Even More No Kings…

As I watched the sea of humanity flowing across the whole world, ALL in agreement on one thing: Donald Trump and the Republicans in general suck, suck, SUCK, I found myself wondering how many of those people left their red hats behind to attend. It’s weird thought, isn’t it? I mean, he still does well with MAGA in the polls. His overall approval remains strong at roughly 33%. That’s MAGA.

But I’ve seen plenty of things that cause me to believe that MAGA is increasingly frustrated by all of this insanity, too. I don’t have evidence, but I suspect they’re answering pollsters the “correct” way, but feeling betrayed and let down. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that some of them are so off-put by the outrages that they might come out and march in a ‘No Kings’ Protest.

The No Kings rally in Maryland, March 28, 2026

There were rallies in every state and in sixteen countries around the world! They even had ‘No Kings’ rallies in places where they have actual kings, like Britain. (No word on how Charles feels about that.) It’s a pretty encompassing movement. At various rallies, people focused on different aspects of the madman’s reign, but all under the headline: No Kings.

I guess the “flagship” event was considered Minneapolis/St. Paul, in honor of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, the two American citizens murdered by ICEholes. But the truth is, there were plenty of rallies, LARGE rallies for people to attend, pretty much anywhere you live. The whole world hates this guy just as much as I do. I’ll tell you this: It’s comforting to know I’m not alone…

Republicans have an annual event known as CPAC. I’m pretty sure that stands for ‘Crappy People Acting Crappily.’ Donny used to be a fixture there. That’s where the first golden idol was unveiled. Ooh, they loved him. Did you catch that? ‘Loved.’

He didn’t go this year. Worse, when a person onstage asked the crowd how they felt about impeachment, the crowd cheered! The speaker was trying to whip them into a frenzy of fear that if the Dems won in the mid-terms, 47 would end up impeached. He wanted the crowd to affirm that would be a bad thing so he told them, flatly, that cheering was the wrong answer, then he asked again. How did they feel about impeachment?

The crowd cheered a second time. They clearly understood the question and they knew the answer they liked best. It looks like there might be more Marjorie Taylor Greenes out there than we might have imagined…

It was as predictable as sunrise, wasn’t it? Donny is, reportedly, bored with his war now. Israel, I suspect, convinced him to get on board and hit Iran. You know, in a “manly” and “strong” way. He apparently thought he could just stumble in, rain down a few bombs, and walk away. Iran sees things differently.

Now the Feeble Failure is asking for $200 billion dollars and calling up as many as 10,000 troops. Overwhelming force, right? Well, Iran has mobilized a million troops. Okay, we’ll just keep bombing. Reports say we’re running out of Tomahawk Missiles. Meanwhile, they can produce their drones relatively cheaply and, apparently, they have a LOT of them.

This seems to be one of those situations that really confuse him. He’s just sure he should be able to tell you what he thinks and you’ll agree with him. In the past, that has largely been true of MAGA. But it’s hard to tell people you’ve won the war when they see the price of a gallon of gas every single time they pull up to a pump – and the price of a gallon is going up every single day.

Try telling people – even redhats – who lost their health insurance because ‘we couldn’t afford it,’ that we CAN afford $200 billion dollars to kill foreigners. Yesterday, I paid $13 dollars for one pound of ground beef. Go ahead, try to convince me things are affordable – OR try to convince me that “affordable” is a made-up word. We were clearly already on the wrong track. His war made everything worse.

But he’s bored now. Big surprise. He has the attention span of a three-year-old. He wants to move on to other things. Apparently, he has a LOT more damage to do somewhere else…

Isn’t it a fair question? If the trumpster can just sign an Executive Order to pay TSA now, why didn’t he do that earlier? Those TSA workers aren’t banking huge amounts that leave them able to absorb a cash-flow interruption. They’re working class, which, in America, means struggling financially. Some dumbass cuts off their wages, they feel it. They feel it fast.

Political gamesmanship. He allowed the pain in the airport in hopes it would deceive enough Americans into believing the Democrats were at fault. But most of America isn’t MAGA. We understand things. We know the problem is the cons, or more accurately, Donny himself, so the travel assault didn’t work. It got even worse when Republicans started reporting that they were willing to fund TSA but President Pedo told them no.

Now that the pain and suffering he caused is being tied directly back to him, he’ll do something about it. He really is a waste of human flesh…

It could be big, this ruling against Meta and YouTube that they deliberately designed addictive spaces. I understood why they were given protections under Section 230 of the Communications Act of 1934. (1934!) It protected platforms from the things users might post on it. If one person went on a racist rant, for example, others couldn’t sue the platform over it.

The idea was to let the platforms moderate what got posted and what got removed. I think we would all agree: they haven’t done a good job. But that was the deal and they were protected and people, often young people, suffer as a result. It seemed there might be nothing to be done about it.

But then a clever lawyer came up with a novel solution. He sued the platforms for intentionally building an addictive product. He just won. That was the second blow to Meta this week! Earlier, a New Mexico jury found that Facebook and Instagram misled consumers about the safety of its platforms. They were ordered to pay $375 million dollars, pocket change for Zuckerberg.

This new suit, their latest loss, is “only” for $6 million. Couch-cushion money in their homes. But, Meta, YouTube, Snapchat and TikTok are facing thousands of similar lawsuits in US courts. The test is to see if their platforms were designed to be addictive. Spoiler alert: they were.

You can almost hear the equivocations writing themselves. ‘No, we weren’t building an addictive product. We just built a friendly environment that encouraged users to return over and over again and then stay.’ The lawsuits are addressing the platform structure and not the content and the user concerns are, so far, prevailing.

It’s hard to say how this will play out. These sites have TRILLIONS of dollars behind them. We all know, for better or worse (though it seems always worse), money rules the day in this once-great nation. But it’s a chance. There’s an opportunity to clean up the mess now. I don’t know if we can, but I’m glad there are people trying…
