I’m starting to suspect Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) might be setting up a Presidential bid. It’s hard to say. She’s out and about, these days, trying to convince MAGA to leave MAGA and move to an ‘America First’ position. She says MAGA was supposed to be America First but trump has betrayed the movement on just about every front.

MTG reacted strongly to the Trump/Epstein File thing. She got even more upset when The First Felon took health insurance from millions of Americans. Hell, she started sounding downright sane, very unusual for her. She knows he hasn’t done anything about the cost of living except make it worse. She knows he turned the USA into a pariah among nations.

47 has only been in office about fourteen full months – just over one year – and he has already added $2.5 trillion dollars to the national debt. At that rate, he’s on pace to add $10 trillion dollars to the debt, assuming he leaves at the end of four years, which I doubt. And that’s not money he’s using to help the vast majority of the American people. He’s redecorating. He’s assaulting Americans. He’s “getting even” with enemies, real and imagined. He chose a foreign war of regime change he can’t explain, he can’t manage, and he doesn’t seem to understand.

I’m saying MTG has a point. I’m not saying she has my vote, of course. Donny has not been America First, the promise of MAGA. Donny has been – has always been – ‘Donny First’ and MAGA is finally starting to see it. For those that don’t? MTG is helping, pointing it out. I don’t know. It’s just a guess, but with MTG suddenly lurching back into sanity and now trying siphon off MAGA voters for a “new and improved” ‘America First’ movement? Yeah, a Presidential bid doesn’t seem that far out of line…

Apparently, President Pedo has endorsed former Fox Not-News host Steve Hilton in California’s governor’s race. I presume the damage control team sprang into action. I can sort of see Hilton’s people on the phone with reporters, “This vile rumor must stop. We would NEVER accept an endorsement from him.” See, I’m not sure an endorsement from Cadet Bone Spurs carries the weight it once did. It might be more of a millstone around Hilton’s neck…

Actually, I feel a little silly, not having realized it myself, but I take comfort in the fact that my mind just doesn’t work that way. I KNOW that social media algorithms feed me information they think I’ll be interested in based on things I do online (and sometimes, things I say too near to my phone). If I’m researching, say, clothes washers online, I’ll start seeing ads for washers, that kind of thing.

On the one hand, it’s creepy. On the other, it could be convenient. It generally isn’t convenient only because by the time the algorithm figures out I’m looking to buy a product, I’ve already bought it and don’t need the ads anymore. The point is, if I have an interest and the social media algorithms find out about it, they’ll feed me more information on the topic that captures my imagination.

But it never crossed my mind that there might not be ANY limit on the focus of my possible “interests.” If I’m into surfboards (I’m not), I’ll get information about surfboards. If I’m into sexualizing children (I’m really not), I’ll get information about that, too. I presume that applies, no matter how dark my “interests” might be. META just lost a huge lawsuit for allowing their platforms to be used for sex trafficking children. I can’t believe the social media sites didn’t set up guardrails for such things.

And you know why they didn’t: money. Limit an interest, any interest, you lose eyeballs, subscribers, cash flow. In our unregulated Capitalist system, one can buy anything if they’ve got the money. It’s really rather ugly…

Holy gods, if you live in the west of the US, you’re in trouble this coming summer. We had a warm March. It melted much of the snowpack. That’s water we’re going to need in the coming months. Hell, the fires have already started and we’ve got a moron in the White House, just itching to “get even” with California for being smarter than him.

I’m starting to feel like maybe it was a mistake to ignore all of those warnings about climate change from all of those experts all around the world who just kept telling us and telling us, only to have their voices drowned out by the power of the almighty dollar. As your life burns to the ground, perhaps you can take comfort in the knowledge that rich people got a little bit richer…

Today, sometime, the Artemis II crew reaches further into space than any human has ever gone before. They’ll be looking at the far side of the moon through portholes. Pretty cool. See? There ARE good things happening in the world. Well, near the world. You know what I mean.

This is just a shake-out mission. Astronauts won’t land until the next mission. Now all we need to do is get to the next mission before Donald Dork cuts the funding and steals the money…

“Nobody told me you might not stop when I told you to. It’s not fair. It’s so unfair. Why is everybody always picking on me?”

Even if trump tries to stop his stupid, evil, illegal war, Israel isn’t going to let him. They just keep bombing everything in sight. Our National Embarrassment is in a hole and he doesn’t have even the slightest inkling on how to get out. He seems to be flailing. All he’s got is threats and foul language and the Iranians seem particularly unimpressed.

Still, the markets seem to be responding to the “possibility of peace talks.” There aren’t any and by now, one would think smart people would realize he’s just manipulating the market with talk but they don’t seem to. Tomorrow is supposed to be the big bombing campaign to stop Iran from responding to the earlier big bombing campaign that started this whole thing. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I’m looking for a TACO…
