Finally, Something Good…

1972. That was the last year the United States sent anybody into space. I mean, out of Earth’s influence. By it’s very name, the International Space Station (ISS) should be understood to be in “space.” Don’t go there without a helmet. And air. You’ll want air. But the ISS is still influenced by Earth’s atmosphere. Not much, mind you. It’s why you gotta take your own air. But it’s still, technically, in Earth’s atmosphere.

Now an Artemis II rocket is taking four astronauts out of Earth’s atmosphere and going around the moon, and THAT hasn’t happened since 1972. Fifty-four years. In fact, this crew will travel farther from Earth than any human ever before – 252,000 miles. Humans went to the moon several times. (Oh, stop it, yes we did.) Then we stopped.

I’ve always seen that as a shame. Had we continued going, we could have a permanent station up there by now. We could have been learning more about the moon and the solar system by being there. Not for long, mind you. Each crew would have to get out after a relatively short time, like they have to at the ISS. It seems lack of gravity is rough on the human body. But I still believe humanity could have learned a LOT if we had kept at it

A couple of areas where human beings make zippy-quick advancements are war and space. We’ve gained a LOT of technology from those two pursuits. For the last fifty-four years, and forever before that, the focus has been war. We’ve gained a lot of technology from our various and sundry efforts to kill each other in as quick and creative ways as possible.

We used to gain technologies from the space race, too. Then we abdicated that gain. Now we’re going back. These days, I don’t get to write about very many good things, but this is a good thing…

I’m glad to hear the war will be over in another two or three weeks. I know it because Donny said so last night on TV. I’m sure it will be a different “two or three weeks” than the last time he told us it would be over in about two or three weeks. Or the time before that. I feel certain THIS “two or three” weeks is the real two or three weeks, not like those other cheap-ass two or three weeks. It’s either that, or he’s lying again…

Apparently, President Pedo thought maybe he could bring his self-described “magnificent presence” to the Roberts Supremely Corrupt Kangaroo Court and maybe intimidate his boot-licking sycophants into doing his evil bidding yet again. It doesn’t seem to have worked. He wants to end birthright citizenship. Sure, it’s in the Constitution, but he doesn’t like it.

No, he didn’t try an amendment, which is the way he would have to change the Constitution according to the Constitution. He used an Executive Order, which doesn’t even carry the weight of law, even though everyone is pretending it does. Well, apparently, except for the Supremely Corrupt Court. They don’t seem too keen on ending birthright citizenship.

The court WILL rule for him if they can. But in this case, the Constitution reads: ‘All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.’ Where’s the wiggle room in that? The Constitution just might win this one…

He’s just a disaster…

The Golden Colander

Have you seen this? It’s called, ‘The Golden Colander.’ It’s a fountain, raining down water on Jeffrey Epstein’s best friend and co-conspirator as a metaphor for how leaky the stupid ‘Golden Dome’ idea is. The umbrella looking thing is a colander, not a dome. Ben Cohen, of Ben and Jerry’s fame, put this statue up in the National Mall. It depicts a dumbass who thinks he can build a space-based defensive system that will destroy any and all rockets aimed at the US. The dumbass in question calls it a “Golden Dome.” Ben Cohen says it’s more like a “Golden Colander” because it’s just chock full of holes.

The proposed system is expensive. VERY expensive. At a time when Americans are being thrown off of various forms of assistance because nobody can afford anything, we still seem to have come up with lots and lots of money – a nearly endless supply, in fact – for the military. But the cost of the system isn’t the main concern. The most important concern is that such programs don’t work and they never have.

This is just a new name for Evil Ronnie’s ‘Star Wars’ system. That one didn’t work, either. Occasionally, a “test” would be presented that showed one missile hitting another to boost support for the wasteful program. Then we would learn the people in charge had pre-programmed the “shooter” missile with exact coordinates or even put a receiver in the “incoming” missile to direct the “defender” missile – just like enemies would not.

If it was up to me – and it’s not – I would put less money into fantasy defense systems and more into benefits for the American people…

Mostly Minutia…

I’m sure glad we, the people, have so little to worry about that we can focus on an almost-to-space flight of a Jeff Bezos’ rocket with an all-female crew. There seem to be two prongs to the “outrage.” One, the behavior of the women involved and, two, that fact that going to space harms the environment, specifically, the Ozone layer, so we shouldn’t do so frivolously.

So, full disclosure, I’ve never been to space or even near space, just in case you were wondering. But I’ve been intrigued by space since I was a young boy. I’ve read and watched a LOT on the topic. There’s one thing that seems to be universal. It seems like everybody who goes to space, comes back a bit different. No, I don’t mean there are creatures about to pop out of their chests but going up there does seem to have a common thread: it’s life-altering in one’s perception of humanity and Earth.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but those spaceships have a tendency to blow up, especially since the program was “privatized.” (“Privatized” is never better.) That makes the journey very dangerous, or, at least, risky. Having gone up, experienced weightlessness, and safely returned – that is, survived – you might want to kiss the Earth, when you got back, too. I genuinely hope the crew of that ship can learn to tune out the critics until this oh-so-important kerfuffle passes, which I assume will be soon.

If anything, I can see taking issue with the environmental harm of sending ships up as publicity stunts, but that’s not on the crew. That’s on Bezos. He doesn’t mind destroying the environment because he has the cash to build a long-term, artificial environment for himself and a few lucky friends. Besides, I don’t know if you’ve noticed THIS, but the billionaires of this once-great nation don’t give two figs about what you think about them or what they’re doing, so long as you keep buying the crap they sell…

I saw a headline that read, “Is it legal for CBP to search your cell phone at the U.S. border?” (CBP is customs and Border Protection.) I didn’t read it. The question strikes me as academic, at this point. One of the most terrible things about the destruction of our Constitution is that “legal” is now defined by whomever is making the determination and whatever whim is fueling the moment.

As MAGA gets the world they wanted – a Hellscape of desperation and destruction – one of the very FIRST casualties was the death of the Rule of Law. No, not for work-a-day Joes. Don’t be ridiculous. WE will absolutely be held to “laws.” But the privileged elite and their cronies will get to do pretty much whatever they want to do. If they want to search your cell phone – and even download and privately enjoy your personal boudoir photos – they’re going to.

You can scream “illegal” all you want to. When no one enforces existing laws, there ARE no existing laws. It doesn’t MATTER if it’s a violation of your Fourth Amendment right to privacy. “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause…”

I’ll tell you this: the Constitution was better. Yes, it was clumsy and not as quick as we would all like but that was politics, not the Constitution. Knowing the rules because they were written down and making them apply to everyone was just… better…

In a rather spectacular display of dullness, people are STILL looking to the “election” of 2028. Oh, who’s going to run? What strategy should they use? How can they attract this bloc or that group? How do they tune their message?

I’m telling you right now, if he hasn’t already done the planet the service of dying – and Satan takes care of his own – Felon 47 is going to “win” the 2028 “election” with 94% of the vote. Dictators LOVE to “win” their “elections” with margins in the low 90’s. They think it gives them the imprimatur of a landslide.

But the name currently being floated around as a popular choice to run for President in 2028 is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, (D-NJ), commonly referred to simply as ‘AOC.’ She’s out on tour with Bernie Sanders, trying to whip up some support in an effort to maintain the republic – as though the republic hasn’t already been destroyed.

Don’t get me wrong, I respect the effort. I wish them all the success in the world. I really do. But I think it’s too little, too late. We the people needed to stop the Heritage coup LONG before it got to this point. We didn’t. Complacency, shock, disbelief, whatever, we failed to keep our republic.

So, on the one hand, I’d love to vote for AOC. I wanted her to run in the last election. I know, she’s too extreme for a lot of people. I’m STILL working on why it’s “too extreme” to want the best for America and Americans but “exactly right” to devastate the nation, the Constitution, and the economy. If you ask me, it’s the Felon 47 regime that’s too extreme. FAR too extreme.

On the other hand, I like AOC. I don’t WANT to hear that she has been arrested for “activities against America” or that she suddenly decided to jump out of a window, just as some con operator paid her a visit. Coincidence, of course…

As Popes go, I thought Pope Francis was a good one. I was a bit surprised to hear of his passing. I knew he had been sick, recently, but I thought he was doing better. It seems like a pretty sudden turn of events. Still, at 88, things can change pretty suddenly.

Now the church enters into a period of mourning and the Cardinals all get together to elect a new pope. I hope they find a good one. The world is going through VERY strange times and a person of vision would be great…
