It seems like it was just yesterday he was telling Congress he doesn’t have to comply with the War Powers Act because hostilities are essentially over. So, now he’s saying Tehran hasn’t suffered enough. I don’t know if any more bombs will be dropped but officials certainly ought to take a quick look for someone cleaning up with recent bets in prediction markets, eh?
Hah, ha! The “officials” ARE the people cleaning up with recent bets in prediction markets. My guess? They won’t be pursuing any “suspicious” bets any time soon. “Hey, deputy, arrest that man in my bathroom mirror!” Uh-huh. Don’t hold your breath.
Iran has sent over a proposal for a peace deal. 47 says he’s “reviewing” it, which means he’s having someone else read it and tell him what it says. Maybe in pictures. He can recognize lots of pictures, you know. Show him a drawing of a giraffe. He’ll know it’s a giraffe. What else does one need to be the leader of the free world?
I think his goal was to eliminate all renewables and yoke the US to fossil fuels well into the future. That was always dumb, and for a lot of reasons. But he has attacked windmills, solar power, electric cars and given tremendous boosts to the oil industry. Or, at least he tried to.
Right now, the oil companies are likely cleaning up at the pumps. Yes, there’s a supply disruption, caused by the Drumpfster, but the companies know to take advantage of any and every blip and they do. I’m expecting their quarterly earnings reports to be just lovely. You know, for them. Those same reports will reflect pain and misery among the American people.
I know Team Evil doesn’t care about pain and misery among the American people and I’m certain the oil companies don’t give a fig about pain and misery among the American people, but it turns out, the American people are very focused on pain and misery among the American people – and they’re responding accordingly.
His GOAL might have been to destroy the renewable market but his incompetence has demonstrated the clearly obvious need to move away from fossil fuels. Sure, I can point out the health risks all day long. But it turns out, we live in a country of absolute morons. If they can’t see a health risk, real time, they don’t believe it’s real. Sadly, even when they can see it, like when we’re piling bodies in refrigerator trucks, they STILL might not grasp the severity.
But pull up to a gas pump. The Dumbass can tell you all day long how bad prices could have been. That’s how he’s deceiving MAGA right now. “I’ll tell ya, it could have been worse,” or “I expected higher.” What you see is how the actual prices are just draining your wallet. I don’t care about what might have been. I care about what is.
“I just put gas in my car. It cost me $112.00!”
“Hey, it could have been $212.00 dollars! Or $21,226 dollars! Or $250 billion dollars. Or any other, higher number I can make up. All of those numbers are worse.”
“Yeah, thanks but $112.00 was bad enough. It’s a VW Bug, you know.”
I really feel for you if you pull up in a diesel vehicle, like, say, a pickup truck. Or how about an 18-wheeler, bringing groceries to market? Added fuel costs directly equates to added cost at the register. It costs less – far less – to refine oil to diesel, yet diesel vehicle drivers are paying top dollar – literally. Diesel costs the least to make but is the most expensive at the pump? Is that market demand, or is that “You’ve got no choice?” That’s a rhetorical question. Of course it’s the “no choice” option.
Donald Trump is a weak man’s vision of what a strong man looks like. He has no idea how to end his stupid, illegal war. He thinks he can just threaten and cajole. Iran doesn’t seem to be capitulating, have you noticed? They don’t have to. As the trump oil crisis grows, pressure will build on Team Evil to get the hell out of there, something he doesn’t know how to do.
Next step? Electric vehicles. Solar power on rooves. Whatever alternative people can manage. Telling the country “Let’s stick to oil, but first, let’s make oil as expensive as possible,” is a really, really dumb idea. So, of course we get it from Team Evil.
Sometimes, I feel like I should get into the prediction markets. All I’d have to do is think of the stupidest possible option in any situation, bet Team Evil will do that, then collect my winnings. No one will ever lose money betting that trump is a moron who hasn’t got a clue…

People say things like this all of the time. Politicians say it as a scare tactic to try to get people to come out and vote. “Oh,” they tell us, “this is the most important election in the history of this country.” I suspect this next mid-term actually meets that definition. Everybody knows how important it is. We should expect Donny to do anything, everything he can to disrupt and corrupt the thing.
But we must – absolutely must – fall out and cast our votes in an effort to take the Congress away from the do-nothing clowns in control now. Will the Democrats be any better? Yes. But more importantly, they certainly can’t do any worse…

Maybe part of the reason 47 can’t figure a way out of his stupid war is that Whiskey Pete Hegseth keeps firing competent generals. Mostly, Hegseth has removed people of color and women. They don’t like people of color or women. They claim that the only reason those people were there was DEIA. (Quick sidebar: most people leave out the “A,” but it’s there. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access.)
It turns out, though, the officers in question all have exemplary records. Excellent officers. Since there’s never any performance issue with these guys when they’re removed, it seems like the color of their skin or their gender are the most important guideline. That all goes back to campaign rhetoric about the evils of DEIA and it tracks – if you’re an idiot.
IF, goes the “thinking,” you were promoted only because you fit a DEI profile, you’re probably not qualified to be in the position you’re in. THEN, they just assume that if you’re skin is dark or you’re (heaven forfend) a woman, you must have been DEI. It never crosses their racist, misogynist minds that people get promoted based on qualifications.
The upshot of all of this stupidity in action is, the quality of our military leadership is declining. Team Evil insists people got promoted for superficial reasons and so weren’t qualified. Their response is to promote unqualified white people based on superficial reasons. It’s looking a lot like putting a weekend talk show host in charge of our military wasn’t the best possible move…
