Dah, Comrade…

As long as I can remember, the far right has been terrified of the word Socialism. In their mind, Socialism IS Communism. You know Communism, right? That’s a political/economic system in which the government owns the means of production. Cons are so scared of anything even approaching Communism, they are opposed to public fire departments. Well, they were.

Now Orange Man has taken a 10% stake of Intel on behalf of the US government. The government, officially, owns the means of production. Communism. It’s right there, right out in the open for all to see. Fortunately, MAGA can look away. Apparently, they’re okay with Communism when Donny does Communism. Why, it’s almost as if these guys have no beliefs at all.

It has happened before. The US has taken ownership stakes in companies that were considered important but badly run. Usually, though, only long enough to prop them up and spin them off. Even THAT is socialism, by the way. Cons cannot – WILL not – confess that Socialism is where Capitalism turns when Capitalism fails, but it happens on a fairly regular, ongoing basis.

The difference, this time, is that Donny doesn’t seem interested in letting go of the government ownership stake. Not only that, his regime is running around extorting a lot of different companies into paying a vig to the US government. “Nice company ya got here. Be a shame if anything were to happen to it.”

There is no end to what MAGA will do for this guy. He wants Communism? Communism is a-okay with them for… reasons. Sooner or later, someone else is going to take a shot at this guy. Sooner or later, Donny is going to want to collect the guns “for everyone’s safety.” And you watch, the Second Amendment, “cold, dead hands” crowd will be searching for their assigned gun drop-off station so the can do their patriotic duty and voluntarily turn in their weapons…

Well, that was fun while it lasted. I wrote yesterday morning that nobody had seen Donny in public for a while and people were speculating as to why. I, for one, was hoping the mantra “trump dead at 79” was taking hold. No such luck. 47 hit the golf course yesterday. Fourteen. That’s the number of cars Donny used to get to a golf course yesterday. They’re all big, heavy vehicles. That explains (in part) why every trip he takes to a golf course costs taxpayers millions of dollars.

Left unexplained is where he was. He STILL wasn’t seen in public from Tuesday through Friday. That STILL means Donny went four days with no public fawning or adulation – nor epithets or insults, either. His ego is FAR to tiny and fragile to not rush to any camera, so where was he?

This morning, we’re getting a lot of “Oh, the haters were wrong,” from corporate media. It sure seems like something was up. He avoided cameras for four days. For anybody else, that’s just normal living. For Donny? It’s evidence of a crisis. He simply CAN NOT stay out from in front of a camera. I wonder if this pretended “most transparent regime in history” will issue a statement. My guess, it will be issued shortly after the Epstein Files are released to the public. That is, don’t hold your breath…

Um… while they’re fighting a fire? Really?!? ICE raided a team of firefighters. They were held while the ICEholes determined citizenship. Oh, let me rephrase that. The fire burned freely while the ICEholes determined citizenship. Two people kidnapped. Unknown number of acres burned while the process played out.

They keep going to where people are working. They never arrest the employer who hired the person illegally. Only the worker. I don’t pretend to be an expert but do you really think MS-13 gang members are dutifully holding down a 9 to 5? I suspect that if you’re arresting MS-13, you’re NOT arresting someone with a steady job. If you’re arresting someone with a steady job, you’re NOT arresting MS-13.

It looks like the ICEholes want the easy captures and don’t really want to focus too much on MS-13. Those guys are tough. Why would ICE want to mess with them? The ICEholes are cosplaying tough guys. They dare not face actual tough guys, so they’ll take the woman picking lettuce – or maybe a couple of firefighters working to stop a wildfire. Certainly nobody threatening. Then they can talk tough at a press conference and the fantasy is complete.

People who know about these things are saying that not only have the Drumpfster’s tariffs (aka tax on the American people) been declared illegal, if the decision stands the US may have to pay back all of the money they collected under the criminal regimen.

There’s no word on how I get back the excess money I had to pay when I went to the grocery store because of Donny’s tariffs coupled with corporate greed. Of course, the whole point is a wealth transfer from the working class to the lazy class, so I won’t be holding out any hope. In fact, The Felon knows he has the Roberts Supremely Corrupt Kangaroo Court in his pocket. He’s expecting a 6-3 decision saying the Precious gets to do whatever he wants, just like it doesn’t say in the Constitution.

On his crappy social media site, he wrote, “If these Tariffs ever went away, it would be a total disaster for the Country. It would make us financially weak, and we have to be strong.” The ONLY reason it would make us financially weak is because of his tax cuts. The tariffs were meant to offset some of the damage of the tax cuts – not ALL of it, but enough to potentially paper over just what a financial fumbler Donny really is.

Quick question: if the tariff decision stands – as it should since tariffs really are the sole purview of Congress – do you suppose Donny will repeal his precious tax cuts that do him so much good personally? You know, for the good of the country. I feel pretty certain that if the good of the nation comes into conflict with the good of Donny, the nation can pound sand…

Headway…

So, uh, where is he? The Drumpfster is the most desperately needy insecure little narcissist the world has suffered for a long, long time. Maybe ever. This guy is SO desperate for attention, he pressed his face against the glass at Walter Reid Hospital when he had Covid just so he could be seen. Now nobody has seen him in a public appearance since Tuesday?

That makes today Day Five without any camera time, no fawning pressers, no public adulation from his toadies, nothing. There have been a couple of posts to his crappy social media site but even they don’t sound like 47. Some of the words are decidedly too big. That is, someone else wrote them.

Whatever is keeping him out of the public eye, it must be pretty serious. I’m pretty sure Donny is simply incapable of choosing to stay out of the public eye. His need for attention drives him the exact same way a heroin addict is driven to heroin.

When he has been seen recently, he shows signs of some health issue. I mean, he’s been trying NOT to show signs of some health issue, but people see it anyway. I heard a doctor say a great way to measure the likelihood of an infirmity, in Donny’s case, would be to pay attention to his golf. Donny comes and Donny goes but Donny golfs. It’s pretty much all he does. (And he even cheats at that when he’s playing alone!) Right now? Donny ain’t golfin’…

I don’t know. Hope springs eternal and maybe I’m just seeing what I want to see. And wish to see. And pray to see. But it IS a hopeful sign, right? Maybe the daily mantra, “Trump dead at 79” is having the desired effect. Let’s keep up the good work, people. Keep chanting. Hold it in your heart. Discuss it among your friends. “Trump dead at 79.” We seem to be making headway…

The tariffs are illegal? To tell you the truth, I’m not surprised to hear that 47’s tariffs are illegal. I’ve read the US Constitution. I KNOW that the power of the purse resides with Congress. Taxation is very definitely within the purview of Congress. The fact that Congress has chosen, lackey style, to ignore The Felon’s encroachments into their territory doesn’t pass the power to the President.

The part that surprises me is that an appellate court said as much. The tariffs have been ruled illegal, correctly, by the DC Appellate court. He’s not worried. He knows he still has the Roberts Supremely Corrupt Kangaroo Court to come to his rescue. I expect them to issue their standard ruling, “Whatever our Precious wants,” which will save his tax increase on Americans.

But corrupt rulings from a corrupted court cannot change reality. His tariffs are illegal. He has no authority to issue nor enforce them. They ARE tax increases on the American people and he has no authority to unilaterally increase taxes on the American people.

I’m not saying he’ll stop. Of course he’s going to do whatever he wants, no matter who it hurts. And oh, man does he seem to enjoy hurting people. It’s just like, a little breath of fresh air, hearing a court issue a ruling that comports with the Constitution. It’s rather rare, these days, and I’m glad to know it’s still possible. You know, for now…

Mortgage fraud seems to be 47’s new go-to charge when he wants to smear someone, in this case Fed governor Lisa Cook. Hey, at least fraud is a topic he genuinely knows something about. In this case, the regime accused Cook of mortgage fraud because they claim she has more than one loan listed as her primary residence.

Okay, first, we don’t even know if that’s true but second, it certainly could be. One gets a better rate on a loan for a primary residence than for an investment property, so the concern is that people lie, pretending an investment property is their primary residence. And, people do. BUT, it’s also possible that she just moved.

One gets a loan for their new primary residence, then, say, a year later, moves to a new house, with a new loan, ALSO listed as a primary residence. The rule is, the borrower only has to stay in a primary residence for six months for it to satisfy the terms of the primary residence designation. Now two loan files exist, both showing different houses as the primary residence and both houses actually were at one time or another. That’s NOT mortgage fraud.

As ALWAYS with this lying and criminal regime, I’d need to see the evidence. No, I don’t want to hear sincere promises that the evidence exists. Show it or STFU…

It’s a measure of how people feel about what this crooked crowd of cowardly creeps is doing. A guy named Sean Dunn throws a sandwich at an ICEhole, hitting him. The sandwich was from Subway and it was still wrapped up so the ICEhole didn’t get dirty just… hit with a sandwich. Still, that’s technically battery, if I understand correctly, so he was arrested and charges were filed.

The thing is, this performative pack of petulant pukes wanted to make maximum impact so they charged the guy with everything they could think of (actually felony assault) and made a grand announcement they were going to put the guy in prison for years and decades to come. And then? The Grand Jury wouldn’t indict the guy. It’s good to know there are still decent people around, eh?

This, after Jeanine Pirro, Donny’s hand-picked, and very pickled US Attorney failed to get an indictment against a DC resident named Sydney Reid – three times! (It is possible, likely, even, that Pirro is just a crappy, crappy lawyer.) Reid was accused of felony assault after scuffling with an ICEhole. But they couldn’t get the felony so Reid will be charged with a misdemeanor. Still, jury nullification in Grand Juries is not common and I’m happy to see people standing up for their fellow citizens against the worst, most vile impulses of this evil regime…

Oh, I didn’t want to forget to mention, Donald Trump was Jeffrey Epstein’s best friend for fifteen years and they very likely raped children together. MAGA doesn’t care but decent people do. And we haven’t forgotten…

Undercover Voters…

Republicans are forever trying to break California in two. They don’t like living in a blue state, what with all that better lifestyle and all. But here they come again, this time, in pursuit of stopping California from doing what Texas did: gerrymander the state to give one party an unfair advantage. Oh, and please note, I wrote “…an unfair advantage.” I think gerrymandering is cheating and wrong every time it’s done. See how I didn’t specify party?

But if one side is bringing a gun to the boxing match while the other side is following Marquis of Queensberry rules, the fight ends very quickly in a very one-sided “victory.” The Republicans in Texas weren’t even subtle about what they were doing or why. It was straight up cheating and they said it was straight up cheating but they were doing it anyway. If Donny hadn’t asked for it, they wouldn’t have done it.

So, really, what is California going to do? What are ALL the states going to do? What choice is there? Oh, let’s stand on principle? Set the example? Or will each state follow suit, each time explaining they’re “fighting fire with fire?” The minority party in each state ends up disenfranchised and insisting it’s an unfair power grab. The minority party in each state will be right.

By now you should be able to tell, I’m VERY ambivalent. But the GOP isn’t. They KNOW it’s right and proper when they do it and an unforgivable sin when the Dems do it. So Texas was just good politics and California is an outrage. They seem to be in a real dither. I started receiving “don’t do what we did” flyers in the mail, the same day Texas passed their new map.

That was only a couple of days ago, but I’ve also already received a second “don’t you DARE do what we did” flyer and now a Republican in the state legislature has introduced a bill to start the process of splitting California in two. This comes up from time to time. It’s the dumbest idea since Donny but the cons STILL think they’d be better off destroying the state. (Hey, it’s a theme, isn’t it? They think they’re going to be better off after destroying the entire nation, too!)

The only real move the voters have is to destroy the plan and the only way we, the people, can interfere with this legislative race to the bottom is to change our voter registration. I first got this idea last Sunday. I wrote: “If you have a friend who is a Democrat and lives in a red state? Advise them to leave the Democratic Party.” The idea is to have liberals/progressives register as independents.

In the moment, the idea was simply to keep from being purged from voter rolls by hiding in plain sight. When the cons purge, they purge Democrats. So don’t register as a Democrat. You can still VOTE with the Dems. More importantly, you can still vote. The Dems, of course, will never, CAN never make this suggestion. They don’t WANT people to leave the party, but if the GOP is just going to remove Democrats from voter rolls anyway, what’s the loss? They’re actually better off if Dems re-register.

But I didn’t take it far enough, did I? The Republicans are evil, not stupid. They’ll figure out what the Dems are doing. Then, they’ll ‘call the conservatives home.’ That is, they’ll tell the cons to register Republican so they can purge all Democrats AND Independents. It pretty much looks like that’s the goal anyway. One party rule, and, what the hell, only one party vote.

When I realized that, I decided the best course is to re-register AS a Republican. I know, I wouldn’t want to, either, but it’s just a strategy. We can call them ‘Undercover Voters.’ As a registered Republican, you could vote in their primary, selecting the least MAGA candidate. More, as a registered Republican, you can STILL vote for the Democrat during the general “election.” They’ll have to find another way to remove your vote. The bonus is, when Dems see people fleeing the party, maybe they’ll realize their brand is toxic and do something different. Don’t bet any money on that last bit, though. Undercover voters. It’s a good plan. Let’s do it…

Donny has already demonstrated his voracious appetite for destruction but this will be the worst, the most destructive, possible move yet. He keeps meddling with the Fed. He has no right to meddle with the Fed, but he keeps doing it, anyway. The Fed is supposed to be independent. He wants to bring it under his control. The very moment Donny brings the Fed under his control, the Fed’s value is compromised. Inflation will result because he’ll order the interest rate low just to make himself look better and the Fed will simply comply.

You think he’s done a lot of damage so far? You ain’t seen nothing yet…

American troops on the ground – in American cities? Wasn’t that what the gotta-have-a-gun crowd was always using as their excuse to keep arsenals of weapons, oppressive government? Right now would be the time to act. Once they’ve got soldiers in place, they can come and take those arsenals from the gun-rights crowd – and I strongly suspect that’s part of the plan…

Hey, I learned a new word: confabulation. It’s a common feature of dementia. A patient (or, in this case, 47) creates false or distorted memories without intending to deceive. They genuinely believe these fabricated memories to be true. So maybe he’s not the biggest liar in the history of lying. Maybe, just maybe, he’s just suffering from a severe case of dementia. That would explain a lot.

Like the story he tells about turning on the water in California. He wasn’t the hero in that story. Yeah, he sloshed some water around. He wasted that water. He flooded some farms. But to hear him tell it, he saved the day. He, personally, put the fires out in LA. (Never mind that they were already under control and essentially out by the time he wasted that water. Oh, and we have to ignore the fact that the water he wasted never got anywhere near LA and never could. As it happens, water does NOT just automatically flow from top to bottom just because north is above south on a wall map.)

But maybe it’s not a lie he likes to tell. Maybe it’s confabulation. Maybe he really believes his version of the story, despite all the contradicting evidence. Is it better if he’s demented and not just a straight up liar? I suspect it makes no difference. He’s reacting to his lies/confabulations the same way – badly – so I guess it doesn’t matter if he’s wrong about lies or wrong about delusions. Still, I like the word: confabulation, and, maybe it will help to understand the ramblings of his mind a little bit…

Paying More – LOTS More…

Okay, here they come, the increased prices due to Donny’s tariffs. Companies held the line for a while but ran out of stock or just decided they can’t keep absorbing the cost. Now the consumer is seeing the increases at the grocery store register. The coffee I drink is nothing special. No offense to Folgers, but it’s Folgers. Gourmet blend. One pound, six point six ounces. It used to run around $15 bucks a container. The last time I bought coffee? $25 dollars.

So, look, this isn’t my first day with American corporations. Sure, the tariffs are playing into the cost increase but I would bet the companies see a chance to raise prices just to increase profits, too. We won’t know until they start reporting their earnings for shareholders. The tariffs are definitely part of it, though.

What, does he think he’s going to bring coffee growing back to the US? We don’t do much of that. We never have. So what was the point of a tariff on coffee? Then again, what’s the point of anything he does?

Just be advised. The country is becoming FAR more expensive to live in. Your money won’t go as far. Whatever money you might eventually see in your temporary tax breaks, you’re going to MORE than lose in your day to day life and all of it traces straight back to the fact that Donny doesn’t understand things…

Oh, he’s threatening to send troops to Chicago? He’s threatening an “investigation” into Chris Christie? He started an “investigation” into John Bolton? None of it is serious. I mean, it’s serious but it’s not important. Sending troops to Chicago won’t do anything other than make a big show. It’s bluster. He tried it in LA. He tried it in Washington, DC. He hasn’t solved anything. He HAS hurt local businesses. All he actually ever does is damage. (It’s the Antichrist way…)

I doubt Bolton is worried about “mishandling classified documents.” I’d bet he didn’t. I don’t even LIKE Bolton but I’d bet there’s no “there” there. It’s the same with Christie. His big “crime” was to question something about 47. Well, kinda. Christie actually asked the same question every thinking American has been asking over the last couple of days: “Why should we believe a damn thing Ghislaine Maxwell has to say about anyone?”

Christie even tried to walk the fine line, question Maxwell’s account without implicating Donny, Jeffrey’s long-time bestie. Christie said, “Now, that doesn’t make Donald Trump guilty of anything.” He even said he doubts Donny was involved, although that was mostly just trying to protect himself from Donny’s wrath. NOBODY questions Donny’s involvement, not even MAGA. But he finished off with, “But we’re going to believe Ghislaine Maxwell? Give me a break.”

See, the “sin” there is that Donny NEEDS people to believe Maxwell. MAGA is desperately trying to, but even they know better. Maxwell is a child sex trafficker and an established liar who has everything to gain from lying. Yeah, that sounds like a trustworthy source.

Christie seemed to brush off the “investigation.” “He told you he was going to do this, that he was going to have a Justice Department that acted as his personal legal representation, and that is what they’re doing.” Donny has weaponized the DOJ. Nobody else did that. That’s all Donny…

Here comes Gavin again. The Drumpfster has been threatening one university after another and one university after another has simply folded under the pressure and given him whatever it is he demands. It’s kind of a ‘Sopranos’ thing. “Nice school ya got here. Be a shame if something were to happen to it.” He finally brought the act to UCLA but when he tried to extort UCLA, he ran into Gavin, America’s favorite Governor.

Donny – America’s least favorite “President” – has accused the school of using ethnic information to pick and choose students. (California stopped using ethnicity on admissions forms several years ago.) He has also pretended he’s fighting antisemitism. He isn’t. At the end of the day, Donny just doesn’t like colleges. He has said, out loud, more than once, he loves the poorly educated. So, he cut off Federal research funds in an attempt to extort money, like he’s done with so many other colleges.

The Felon froze a half billion dollars in research funding, then demanded a one billion dollar tribute to open the spigot again. But Gavin said no. Gavin calls it what it is: extortion. Gavin says he’ll see the criminal regime in court. Gavin is encouraging UCLA to fight back, saying, “I’ll do everything in my power to encourage them to do the right thing and not to become another law firm that bends on their knees, another company that sells their soul, or another institution that takes the easy wrong versus the hard right.”

The obvious problem, here, is that the GOP and the Heritage Foundation have so thoroughly corrupted the higher courts, Gavin is likely to win early (because he’s right) but lose on appeal (because those courts serve Donny, not the law.) Still, it’s nice to see someone standing up to the would-be dictator and not just rolling over…

Oh, speaking of “rolling over.” MAGA – America’s least favorite bloc – tried to make a thing out of the fact that Gavin – America’s favorite Governor – said that Texas governor Greg Abbot had “rolled over” for the trumpster. GOP was horrified, or, rather, pretended to be. See, Abbot gets around in a wheelchair, so Gavin was clearly making some reference to that. How dumb are we going to get?

The term “rolled over” has existed longer than Greg Abbot and possibly every English speaker in the world knows it and has likely used it at some point. It means to surrender without a fight. It has nothing to do with mobility. More, I can say – for a fact – that mobility-challenged people do, in fact, use common expressions when talking about movement. If one says to a wheelchair bound person, “You walked out of the room,” the conversation just goes on. There’s no, “Oh, you said I ‘walked out,’ you meanie-pants.”

Every moment in this “culture war” makes me tired all over. It’s defining characteristic seems to be “stupidity.” It depends on stupidity. It makes an art form of not understanding basic things. It’s in my face on a daily basis so I have no choice but to notice but – damn! – it’s boring…

Relentless Stupidity…

If Biden set a trap for him – any trap – meant to “go off” only AFTER Donny seized power, intended only to make Donny look bad, and then the trap triggered, successfully, and made Donny look bad, who’s the smarter man? The guy who set up the open-ended trap, or the guy who was unable to see it and stop it?

It’s a rhetorical question. Biden didn’t set any traps. The things that are going wrong in the country, today, are NOT Joe Biden’s doing. They’re not Barack Hussein Obama’s doing. This is all down to Trump. All of it. No one else gets the credit, no one else gets the blame. Well, that last part is wrong. EVERY one of the enabling lickspittles who help him and support him deserve some measure of the blame. They can form a support group as they all burn in hell together.

It’s been seven months since he and his cronies infested the White House. In seven short months, he has destroyed America’s reputation, America’s standing in the world, America’s relationship with trading partners, and he seems to be working as hard as he can to destroy the American dollar, once the fiat currency of the world.

A fiat currency is one that isn’t backed by a commodity or precious metal. The thing about a fiat currency? It only works if people trust the issuer. NOBODY – and I DO MEAN NOBODY – trusts Donald Trump. (Even MAGA knows better. Oh, sure, they’ll get in your face and SCREAM at you that nobody is greater that 47, but in their heart of hearts? They know who he is…)

This is from the Guardian: “Gavin Newsom can mimic Donald Trump all that he wants to,” JD “Just Dance” Vance told Fox News host Laura Ingraham this week, “they’re still going to lose unless they get better policies that actually serve the American people.” See? Bizarro America on opposite day. This, from the team that is so sure they can’t win based on their policies they’re actively cheating, right out in the open, for all to see.

Speaking of which, I’ve already received a second flyer from the GOP, helpfully “explaining” to me the kind of damage that occurs when a party tries to gerrymander a state in an effort to control the outcome of an election. So when the GOP gerrymanders Texas to gain five extra seats, that’s just good politics because they “deserve” them, but when Democrats gerrymander California to offset Texan GOP chicanery, why, that’s a moral sin above all others and no decent person should support it? Right, that makes perfect sense…

Okay, listen. If you have a friend who is a Democrat and lives in a red state? Advise them to leave the Democratic Party. Advise them to re-register as “Declined to State” or whatever that state calls undeclared or independent voters.

You see, as we get closer to “elections” in this rigged, bullshit MAGAmerica, you just KNOW the GOP is going to start purging voter roles. But they’re only purging Democrats. They don’t purge Republicans, obviously, and many conservatives still claim to be independents, right now, so they can’t easily purge independents from the voter roles without the risk that they might purge some of their own – and they need every vote they can steal, being so unpopular and all.

Your liberal (Smarter? Better informed?) friends can still caucus with the Democrats. In fact, in changing their registration, they increase the chances their vote will be counted. They can’t purge you if they don’t know you’re a Democrat, see? But you can still vote with the Democrats for decency and democracy…

MAGA spent years bitching and bitching and bitching and bitching and bitching and bitching and moaning and whining and bitching some more about weaponizing the DOJ, which was not happening at the time. Now? Oh, they’re having a great time watching Donny try to “get even” with his “enemies” (people who tell the truth) through a weaponization of the DOJ.

Hypocrisy, thy name is MAGA. I don’t know where he picked up this phrase he’s using, “mortgage fraud,” but, suddenly, everybody (hyperbole alert) who has ever uttered an unpleasant truth about the orange moron is under investigation for “mortgage fraud.” Although, in fairness, his fraudulent attack on John “walrus mustache” Bolton pretends Bolton mishandled classified materials.

I’m guessing these “charges,” like nearly everything else that vomits from his horrible face (he continues to brag, honestly, about his sexual assaults) are pure fabrications, but they will cost his targets, I’m sorry, I mean “victims” time and money. Even Fox Not-News has come out against the practice, highlighting the obvious political motivations from the tiny-handed trumpster.

So, a quick lesson for MAGA. When Donny was investigated and convicted it was because he actually committed the crimes of which he stood accused. He was/is actually guilty, see? Making up charges and then having your cops pursue the made up charges is the very definition of weaponizing the DOJ – and it’s Jeffrey Epstein’s very good friend, Donny, doing it to others, not the other way around…

A measure of the popularity of MAGA? Nancy Mace, one of Donny’s favorite pets (for the moment) was supposed to speak at an event held by a far-right, anti-trans group called ‘Moms for Liberty,’ whose slogan might be, “We’re at liberty to block your freedom!” When she got there, she discovered the room meant to hold 100 people only held eight. Eight people, total. And this is a group of people who believe the same delusional bullshit Mace believes. She should have packed the room, right? She canceled.

At one event, Mace claimed she would “debate anyone.” Then, anyone who arrived at the event wearing a shirt that indicated their opposition to her stupid positions was asked to leave. That sounds more like “run from a debate with anyone.” Classic MAGA: tough in groups, not so much individually…

If you take blood pressure medication, you know that it causes these… spots. I don’t know what they’re called but they can be quite large and quite noticeable. Most of us just wander around with a purplish spot on our hands or arms. Not Donny. He tried to hide them with what looks like foundation. Of course, blending isn’t his thing, so the effort to hide them with make-up serves, mostly, to highlight the area. In trying to downplay it, he draws attention to it.

That’s his relentless ego in direct conflict with his relentless stupidity…

Bizzaro America On Opposite Day…

I wouldn’t call it an axiom so much as a rule of thumb, but it’s a very solid rule of thumb and it goes like this: If Trump says a thing, the opposite is true. It’s not always correct. All of those times he said he wanted to sleep with Ivanka? Those were true. I mean, obviously. But Washington, DC is a crime-riddled hellhole? No, the opposite is true. The crime rate in Washington, DC has been down steadily for two years. And, no, the numbers that support that statement aren’t wrong just because he had a gut feeling.

When he told Billy Bush he likes to just grope women without asking? Yeah, that one was true. But is the US “hot again?” No, the opposite is true. The entire world is readjusting it’s trade around the US, not through it. We’ll be cut out completely, here, in a year or two. The sudden instability of the US is just freaking everybody else out.

He was pretty honest when he was describing his scheme to see teen women undressed at his beauty pageants by “inspecting” the facilities while the girls were changing clothes. But Mexico never paid one dime for that wall and his better health care plan is still – perpetually – two weeks away.

When he called Jeffrey Epstein “a great guy” and “a lot of fun to be with?” He meant those. Those were true. But has he ended ten wars? He hasn’t even ended one. Some conflicts and potential conflicts have ended while he infests the White House but that doesn’t mean HE ended them, and, so far, the principals of those events have claimed he had nothing to do with it.

Hey, there’s a pattern, there, isn’t there? He tells the truth about his sex crimes. He effing lies about pretty much everything thing else. Is he deporting murderers and rapers? Not for the most part. They’re mostly hard-working, contributing members of society, if not citizens. Did he cut drug prices by 1,500%? Don’t be ridiculous.

The list is almost inexhaustible. The point is, if Donny says something NOT related to his sex crimes, he’s almost certainly speaking the exact opposite of the facts at hand…

How about the “Speedway Slammer” in Floriduh? I suppose the cutsie nicknames are intended to gloss over the nightmares those people are living inside of them. Hey, if you’re going to be incomprehensibly cruel, you might as well have fun with it…

I hear MAGA is calming down now that Ghislaine has said that she never saw the Groping Grifter in “any inappropriate setting.” Ghislaine seduced, trained, and turned out children in a sex-trafficking ring. I’ll need FAR more details about what she considers “inappropriate.”

I suppose MAGA will be satisfied. Of course, they WANT to be satisfied. Those of us interested in facts are NOT satisfied. Todd Blanche asking leading questions she gave the correct answer to is not the most convincing “interview” to the rational mind. Hell, we all watched the “quid” part – her lovely new living situation – paid for her “pro quo” of saying anything that would help out her old friend. Well, the first part of he “quid” anyway. Once this blows over, thanks, in part, to her helpful but dishonest “testimony,” she’ll get her pardon, or at the very least, a commutation.

I still need to see the files. No, sending them to James Comer isn’t going to prove anything either. Comer is a known commodity and he’s not known for quality. I’m pretty sure the term “brown nose” was created specially for him, years before he was even born, in anticipation that such a vile person would soon infest the planet. He’s certainly the living embodiment of it…

Let the race to the bottom, well not “begin,” exactly. How about “get worse even faster?” Texas passed their new redistricting map. I believe it was the very next day that I received a flyer in the mail urging me to vote against Newsom’s plan to fight back. In California, Republicans seem to think it would be best just to live with the status quo. Mid-term redistricting, it seems, is only “fair” when Republicans are doing it? Uh-huh.

But California will pass theirs, too. Other states may well follow. I don’t know because I don’t sit around calculating these things, but I hear the Dems can’t keep up if it turns into a full-on, every state redistricting war. I don’t LIKE this plan. I just don’t see any other good option.

Congressional districts should be mandated in the Constitution to be as close to square-shaped as possible. No, of course, they won’t all be perfect squares. But it’s hard to pretend a salamander looks like a square, right? “As close as possible” is the key phrase. Let’s remember that when we’re putting together the next Constitution. You know, after the revolution…

Apparently, some people have never even heard of it. Oh, yeah, night time! It could be night time and the sun won’t be shining on the wall at all…

I mean the last one, in Alaska, where Donny thought he was making progress with Putin about Putin’s war in Ukraine? Putin, on the other hand, got a whole reel of propaganda footage of him leading around the President of the United States on a dog-leash while his dog performed tricks at his command. THEN, just to make sure Donny understood that Vlad is in charge, Putin ordered the bombing of an AMERICAN owned business in Ukraine.

Donny’s response? I mean, his ONLY response? “I told [Putin] ‘I’m not happy about it.'” That’s some pretty tough talk, right there. Next, I expect him to take a page out of the Democrat’s playbook and send a strongly worded letter. I’ll tell you this: it’s just embarrassing to be an American, these days…

I Trusted Bill…

If you’re one of those people waiting patiently for Donny to do something that turns off his base and causes them to withdraw their support, stop it. Fugitaboudit. Knock it off. Stand down. Let it go. It’s not going to happen. Do you want to know how I know? Bill Clinton. Yeah, I can see where that might need a little explanation so, here goes. I realized something. I did with Bill Clinton what MAGA does with Donny. I was taken in by Clinton’s charisma and I believed he intended to “focus on the economy like a laser beam.”

He got a little sidetracked by the first World Trade Center bombing on February 26, 1993 something like 37 days into his first term. But he signed the Tax Reform Act of 1993 in August of that year. It raised taxes on the wealthy and the economy took off. It looked like he was doing what he said he would do and I confess, I became complacent. I just trusted Bill.

I did notice when he signed – and supported – NAFTA. NAFTA was the ‘North American Free Trade Agreement.’ Although it enjoyed bipartisan support, it was, primarily, a Republican effort led by Bush 41. As it happened, I agreed with Ross Perot who warned that NAFTA would fast-track offshoring of American jobs. (Ross was right.) So I wasn’t happy, but I adapted. I trusted Bill, so I decided it was just policy integrity.

See, right up until Donny, an incoming administration honored the agreements and policies of the outgoing administration. It made the US a trustworthy and stable trading partner. So I dismissed my concerns. Surely, I thought, Bill has something in mind to protect American jobs. I trusted Bill.

That’s just one example. Bill did several things that I didn’t like or understand. But each time, I managed to find an explanation. Often, the explanation I “found,” I actually made up. Does any of this sound familiar vis-à-vis MAGA and 47? But by the time Bill left office, I was still fully onboard and ready to vote for Hillary. “Let’s keep it going,” kind of thing. I still trusted Bill.

It wasn’t very long, though, until the “fruits” of Clinton’s administration started to show. By 2004, I still would have accepted Hillary to block 43 but she, apparently, didn’t see anything she thought needed blocking. After that? You couldn’t get me to vote for a Clinton again under any circumstances. Yes, that includes Chelsea, should she run.

It was right around that time that I understood and began describing Bill Clinton – who ran and won as a Democrat – as the best President the Republicans had ever had in the modern era. He just did SO MANY things that served the Republican agenda. It’s easier to see now, looking backwards.

Did you know the homelessness problem of today traces a direct line back to Bill Clinton? An investment instrument called a ‘Derivative’ was developed during Clinton’s administration. He was warned they were dangerously subject to abuse and advised to regulate them. He made the very Republican decision to NOT regulate – trust that evil people wouldn’t do evil things. Guess what?

Evil people did evil things. The derivatives were abused. They caused the economic meltdown of 2008. That left banks holding a ton of repossessed homes, but because of the meltdown, most individual buyers didn’t have any money to buy. So a rule was changed and suddenly, corporate real estate investment trusts (REITS) were allowed to buy single family homes. They did. They still do. Now the vast majority of work-a-day Joes can’t compete. Housing costs are through the roof and with housing costs so high, rents skyrocket, too. Voila! Homelessness on a vast scale. Thanks, Bill.

Do you know why you can’t turn on a news program and just get a little journalism to inform you of the day’s events, instead of a three-ring circus intended to distract? The Telecommunication Act of 1996, signed and supported by Bill Clinton. That Act allowed media companies to merge and merge and become the corporate media conglomerates we suffer today. With only a handful of corporations now owning the vast majority of “news” outlets – which are now required to be profit centers – we get very corporate, very slanted “news.” Bill Clinton.

Oh, how about Fox Not-News? By law, Fox couldn’t exist in the US. It broke some ownership and market penetration rules. No worries, mate. Clinton’s administration issued a waiver and put old Rupert to work – ironically, tearing down Bill Clinton.

Those are all true. You can look them up. But in addition to those favors he did corporations, he ALSO attacked needy Americans through “welfare reform,” a long-term darling of the right. They called it the ‘Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act’ (PRWORA). ‘Work Opportunity.’ Even the NAME sounds Republican.

The point is, Bill Clinton did all of these things during his presidency and I excused or overlooked them all. I assumed MY GUY would have an angle to offset any societal problems. I trusted Bill because I liked Bill. But this gets worse. Because I’m not blindly beholding to political parties, I was able to free myself of the Clinton delusion, but do you know how many people in this country STILL love Bill Clinton and sing his praises as President? Most Republicans STILL love to hate him, too, despite the success he had inflicting their agenda.

And THAT’S why the scales will, likely, never fall from MAGA’S eyes. 47 does something they don’t like? They can excuse that. MAGA will do for Donny what I did for Bill and for the same reason. They trust him. Should they? Should I have trusted Bill? That doesn’t matter. I did, and they will, too.

I’ll tell you this: my little revelation doesn’t make it any easier to accept what Donny is doing to America but it might offer some insight into why MAGA continues to support him no matter what…

Can you imagine an entire planet wishing and hoping and waiting impatiently for you to die? An entire planet! Every sane, rational person on the planet spends a little time, each and every day, looking for the headline, wishing for the outcome. Even Christians (real Christians, not these “christian nationalist” assholes) spend a little time each day praying, “Dear Lord, please call him home, today. Your world can’t take much more of him.”

There’s a major party brewing. There’s a world-wide celebration afoot. Everybody wants to be a part of it, and all we need is for ONE orange, bloated, blowhard, moron to pass quietly in his sleep. I hope for that party every day. I would not want to live a life that leads to the entire planet wishing and hoping for my passing. Apparently, though, Donny doesn’t mind…

Specifically, ALL CAPS POSTS RIFE WITH SELF COMPLIMENTS (AMERICAS FAVORITE GOVERNOR – ME!!!) AND INSULTS TO THOSE AROUND HIM (LIKE THE FAT LOSER IN THE WHITE HOUSE). SAD! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!!

Personally, I love them. They make me laugh. They highlight the idiocy and MAGA doesn’t even get it…

Fake And Not Fake News…

I think MAGA is so busy being happy about winning the “culture war” they don’t know or care about the actual damage being done to the country. We’ve all seen how they were recently turned away from the Epstein files. I mean, it seemed effortless. All Donny had to do was chant the words, “Fake news. FAKE NEWS!” Suddenly, every MAGA everywhere just KNEW it was all fake news. Donny, after all, had said so – and when does HE ever lie?

So, clearly, MAGA needs a primer on fake news. I’m here to help. I wouldn’t even be able to think of all of the scandals that have been dismissed by MAGA with those magical words, “Fake news.” I don’t understand the magical power, but that might be because I’m able to discern between fake news and real news. The thing is, it’s not that difficult. So here’s my “pocket primer” to determine if the news you’re hearing is fake news or real news. Don’t worry. I’ll keep it simple.

The short version is, Fake News is gossip, rumors. Fake News is trumpery. The single most important characteristic of fake news is this: there’s no evidence. That’s important. Fake news can’t have evidence. Evidence proves the ‘fake’ part of Fake News. But, by definition, if there IS evidence, it’s not fake news. This part can be a little confusing. When I reference a lack of evidence, it’s not a case where evidence has been collected but carefully hidden away. Actual fake news doesn’t have any supporting evidence, whatsoever. There are promises of evidence. There are promises that the evidence will be released any day now or at the “right time.” But that evidence never gets released – because it doesn’t exist.

Think, “They’re eating the dogs.” We KNOW that was a fake story. The woman who started it said so, flatly. There can be NO evidence of Haitians eating dogs and cats because the Haitians weren’t eating the dogs or cats. Hunter Biden’s laptop? The one that was going to prove the criminality of Joe Biden? When? Because mostly, it looked like an opportunity to display a little revenge porn on the floor of the House, but it didn’t do much else. No evidence means it’s fake news. The 2020 “election.” The claim that it was rigged? No evidence is ever presented and no evidence will ever be presented because it doesn’t exist. Oh, sure, it’s promised. It just never comes. It’s ALWAYS hidden under a mountain of “any day now” but never shows up.

The First Felon’s current lie? The one about mail-in ballots being vulnerable? Fake news. I’ll tell you exactly how vulnerable mail-in ballots are to voter fraud: Donny wants to get rid of them. This, from the guy who wants nothing more than to steal all of the votes right now, today, and who is openly saying so. “If we don’t cheat, we’ll lose the House.” He’s trying to rig the 2026 “election” in every way he can think of and one of those is to eliminate the voting type he simply can’t cheat: mail-in ballots. If Trump wants to get rid of them, you KNOW they’re safe.

But real news? Real news has evidence. Think of Donny’s 34 criminal convictions for fraud. That wasn’t a story based in wishful thinking. That was a factual event supported by verifiable evidence examined and judged by a jury. Remember when he stole classified documents? Real news. MOUNTAINS of evidence. There was so much evidence in the stolen classified document case, it literally required a truck to move it all.

Think Jeffrey Epstein. We all know the evidence exists. We KNOW the FBI collected evidence from his various residences. Sure, it has all been carefully boxed up and hidden in some deep vault in the hopes that nobody will ever see it, but the evidence is real. It exists. The Jeffrey Epstein charges are real news supported by evidence.

Russia, Russia, Russia came with evidence, evidence, evidence. It just got locked away before anybody could see it. Bill Barr locked it onto a local computer and released a “summary” that mostly reported what they wish it had said – but didn’t. The Trump campaign colluded with Russia in the 2016 “election” and probably in the 2020 (where Donny lost because of mail-in ballots) and, I believe, certainly in the 2024 “election.” Donny can’t win without cheating and the evidence says so.

Frankly, I would think MAGA would get tired of having to pretend anything that makes Donny look bad must be fake news. I mean, what are the odds that every single crime he commits, every charge he faces, every accusation from any and every victim is “fake news?” It simply defies logic that anything that makes Donny look bad must be fake news.

No, Russia, Russia, Russia was real news, not fake news. The felonies were real news, not fake news. The sexual assault? Real news, not fake news. His association with Jeffrey Epstein is real news, not fake news. He DID steal classified documents. But if one of the Deceived even considers the possibility, he redirects. He pretends the true story is fake news and replaces it with… go on, guess. Yep, you got it. Fake news!

Do you really believe Donny just posted ‘Bela’ for no reason? I don’t. I imagine ‘Bela’ was posted as a response of some kind. He’s delivering a message to someone. Maybe he’s answering a question or responding to a command Putin had for him. I don’t know the details, of course, but I DO believe he posted that for a reason.

Yes, “he’s a moron” IS a reason but that’s not what I mean. He needed to get back to Putin on some instruction and when the orders were carried out, the message was sent: “Bela.” I believe that Donny is manipulated and out-maneuvered by pretty much everyone he has contact with, so, pretty much everyone. Vlad gave him an order. Donny completed his assignment and sent the code word: “Bela.” That’s just my opinion but, what the hell? We live in a post-truth hellhole and MY wild guess is just as good as anyone else’s wild guess…

So, are ALL dictators goofball weirdos? I’m asking because I’ve noticed how weird 47 is. For instance, when he wants to look important, he physically puffs out his chest and gets a kind of silly look on his face – the kind babies get when they’re filling their diapers – as though important people have to adopt a specific physical demeanor to reflect their importance. You know who else used to do that, try to show how important they probably were by puffing up with a silly face? Benito Mussolini.

Both the Drumpfster and Mussolini adopt attitudes that, I guess, are supposed to project power, but somehow, it always looks to me like these are kids playing games and they have no idea how to do what they’re trying to do. They’re poseurs, hoping nobody notices. It’s a common characteristic among dictators.

Don’t get me wrong, I know they’re actually very dangerous guys. But everything about their body language suggests, to me, that they KNOW they’re out of their depth. That’s because they didn’t get there on their own. In each case of a new dictator, there’s a team of evil people behind the public face. What, you think Donald Trump is crafting all of those evil Executive Orders he’s signing at a furious pace? When, between the 8th and 9th holes?

If our judicial system hadn’t been so effectively corrupted during Donny’s first term, there wouldn’t BE a second term. You don’t think Donny, himself, knew which judges to focus on first, do you? No, that came from the Heritage Foundation, a conservative stink tank working to overthrow America one rule at a time. They’re a team, and they work together. So, one group works on corrupting laws, one group works on corrupting judges, the next group might work on corrupting the economy, that kind of thing. Good old-fashioned teamwork.

Buying Congress probably exceeded even the Heritage Foundation’s budget, though. That meant several billionaires banding together and putting their money to work – for them. They didn’t have to buy ALL 535 members, thank the gods. THAT would have been very pricey. But they had to buy enough of the cons AND enough of the Democrats to keep things going their way.

What, you think the Democrats lose because they’re incompetent? Please, these are national politicians. They know how to play these games. They know the rules as well as the cons. It’s their job to lose. They have to look like they’re putting up a fight, but they have to lose, so lose they do.

So you can see, Donny is surrounded by a team of evil enablers, it’s not just him. And it wasn’t just Mussolini. It wasn’t just Hitler. It isn’t just Erdoğan in Turkey or Kim in North Korea. It isn’t even El Salvador’s Bukele, who calls himself “the world’s coolest dictator,” a pretty low bar when one considers the others. Dictators have teams. But all of the front men? Weirdos. Poseurs. Freaks and Geeks. I wonder why that should be so.

The reason I mention it is this: when the time comes, we’re going to need several guillotines, not just the one…

Here are a couple more posts from Gavin Newsom’s office. This was during Newsom’s countdown to gerrymandering to offset MAGA cheating in Texas.

47, himself, couldn’t have written it better. I’m pretty sure this next one is just trolling, but it’s so spot-on. The press office has captured the style so perfectly, the all-caps, the rambling blather, the nonsensical grammar, even the self-important blowhard stuff, that I find myself wondering if they’re AI generated or just the work of some brilliant people. I hope it’s the latter…

Okay, did you know there’s a company out there called ‘Crowds On Demand?’ It’s CEO is a guy named Adam Swart and he insists that he supplies paid protestors for events. Curiously, this information is being reported in MAGA media but not so much in center or left-leaning media. I think stories like this are why the right believes 47 when he dismisses protests as paid events.

The thing is, Swart makes claims that are a little weird. Swart claims he sends paid protestors to protests for either side, left or right. Fair enough. But then he says all of the protestors he sends to an event are “sincere advocates for the cause at hand.” Why? You’re essentially hiring actors. Actors don’t need to be sympathetic to the characters they play.

What, do you think Robert Englund, they guy who played Freddie Krueger, is actually haunting people’s dreams and murdering them? Spoiler alert: he’s an actor, playing role. He doesn’t have to actually “support” murder to play Krueger. So, why would it be important that I actually support the No Kings Day protests if I’m being paid to go there and hold a sign that says I support the No Kings Day protest? Is it at all possible that a claim that paid people are actual supporters is made to cover for the fact that reporters can never find anyone who says, “I’m just being paid to be here?”

It’s important to note that Swart refused to disclose which protests his company has been asked to participate in. During a back and forth with ‘Fox and Fiends’ co-host Lawrence Jones, he suggested his professional protestors had participated in the Tea Party protests. Jones was having none of it. He rejected, outright, any notion that a conservative protest might need or want paid protestors. In his (conservative, myopic) eyes, protestors are ONLY paid to protest at liberal events.

But that’s my next question. Why in hell would anyone have to pay protestors to come out for No Kings Day? Americans are angry about the ravages of Donny’s foolhardy regime and we don’t NEED no stinkin’ paid protestors. Crucially, not only does Swart dodge the question of which protests he has sent people to, he refuses to say WHO pays him, from either side.

So, in summary, Swart is a guy who claims he sends paid protestors to events but only if they already agree with the event they’re being sent to. He refuses to say which events he has been engaged to augment, and he refuses to identify who, exactly, is footing the bill for the paid protestors who already agree with the protest they’re in. Essentially, that’s a claim with no evidence. That means it’s exactly the kind of story MAGA will buy – every single time…

Jeffrey Epstein’s very good friend, Donald Trump, is getting people killed with his cruel ICE raids. This clever trick ICE is using? The one where they raid Home Depot parking lots from Penske trucks looking for day laborers who ALSO happen to be murderers and rapers, even though they’re fresh out of murderers and rapers? Yeah, that one. Now a man fleeing such a raid has been killed. He was trying to escape the ICEholes when he ran into traffic and was hit by a car.

That same article included the tidbit that the US is currently holding 60,000 people in detention for deportation. If you actually believe they’ve managed to round up 60,000 murderers and rapers who were just wandering around free, I’ve got a bridge I’d like to sell you. The same bridge, over and over. And if you believe – actually believe – they’ve rounded up 60,000 murderers and rapers, well, you’re just stupid enough to buy that bridge every time I sell it to you.

I’m okay writing that last sentence because I know they don’t actually believe the ICEholes are only holding murderers and rapers. MAGA knows the vast majority of people being detained have no criminal record beyond a lack of proper paperwork. They don’t much care. They just like the idea that the government is inflicting pain and suffering on someone they don’t like.

Yeah, yeah, other countries enforce their immigration laws. I’ve heard that one. But that’s not all they’re doing, is it? It’s one thing to grab Jose Garcia as he sneaks across the border and send him back to where ever he came from, it’s another to revoke otherwise proper permission to be here for the sole purpose of rounding people up and sending them away. And there’s no reason on Earth for them to be so effing cruel. THAT part they’re throwing in for the fun of it.

Like everything else in MAGA world, most of the details of the deportation story are fraudulent. Most of the people detained are NOT violent criminals, the group he promised to target. Large numbers of them were immigrating “the right way.” That is, they were following the law and going through the process. The DOJ is interrupting the process for the sole purpose of declaring the people caught in the middle “illegals” and hauling them off to detention camps.

Oh, and the camps. Why does the regime have to be so effing cruel to the people they’re taking into custody? The main “crime” of the vast majority of those people is that they wanted (or needed) to live somewhere other than where they were born. Most of them were contributing to our society in some way, not taking from it. That is to say, the US benefited from their presence. Their reward? They’re ripped from their families, “detained” in sub-human, cruel conditions, and then often deported to countries they are not from, they know nothing about, they have no business being in…

I read this sentence from ‘The Niners Wire:’ “Through the first few weeks of training camp, the San Francisco 49ers have been one of the unluckiest teams in the league when it comes to injuries.” I’m not sure I can agree with “unlucky.” The Niners have a long history of injuries on the team. Last season, it was so bad, they were lucky to be able to field a full team and the team they fielded… well, wasn’t very good.

Kyle Shanahan is certainly a better coach than I’ll ever be, but there’s something about the training camp that needs to be addressed. It seems like every year, injuries are the lead story. Some of it comes from signing injury-prone players. Some of it happens in practice. During actual games, Shanahan is infamous for running one player to death, even though he has another player on the sideline who might give the first player a breather.

Letting player one sit out a play or two protects him. Letting his backup take a snap or two gives him experience. It’s a win-win, but it’s a win-win Shanahan never uses. I’m becoming concerned we’re about to endure another season of a team packed with superstars who are all hobbled on the sidelines, watching their team fall to 6-11. I wish someone could help Shanahan manage his team’s health a little better…

So… this is weird. Why did the Drumpfster waddle left and right when he was on the red carpet, waiting to meet his Russian handler? He was just walking. You know, as one does. But he veered. First he veered right. He almost walked off the carpet, so he veered left. When he reached the left side, he had to try to straighten it out again. If we had been driving, I would have called the cops on a likely drunk-driver. He finally managed to move back to the center of the carpet before coming to a stop and standing out in the middle of the airport waiting for Putin.

But then, as Putin rolled up, Donny started clapping. I suspect if he was capable of jumping up and down, he would have jumped up and down. He looked like a little boy who gets to see the “big truck” when it comes to collect the trash and can barely contain his excitement.

One thing that offered comfort to those of us wishing on a daily basis for natural events to end our national nightmare, Donny’s cankles look pretty bad. ‘Cankles’ is a slang term that describes a lack of definition between the calves and the ankles. It’s common in fat, out-of-shape people and Donny is definitely that – fat and out-of-shape. He’s very old. He’s in terrible shape. He could come to a natural end at any moment and in my book, it wouldn’t be a moment too soon.

Oh, yeah. Almost as an afterthought, no deal. Donny always thinks he’s going to walk into any room and make any deal he wants. He nearly always walks out with egg on his face (and ketchup on his tie) and no deals. Sometimes, people TELL him they’ll do this or that but because nothing is in writing, it’s just talk. They can string him along for months, maybe years, just telling him what he wants to hear. So they do.
