Our story, so far. After losing in 2020 (you’ll remember this) the Petulant Pipsqueak whipped his armed, weak-thinking followers into a frenzy, convincing them the election had been stolen and encouraging them to go to the Capitol building and attack. He denies any of that – but there’s so much evidence. The Embarrassment didn’t like that, so he filed a $10 billion dollar defamation suit, because of course he did. He got used to broadcasters bowing to his demands for no reason other than he holds the key to their futures via the FCC. But the FCC has no authority over the BBC and the BBC chose to fight the charges. That starts with discovery and specifically a deposition. The dotard doesn’t sit for depositions because they make him look so very, very bad.

The BBC is trying to depose him right now, but he keeps avoiding it. He has been ordered to undergo the deposition by December 11, 2026 or the suit will be dismissed. The rule, of course, is that Trump Always Chickens Out and I’m putting the TACO date at December 10. This is nothing but a vexatious lawsuit and he knows he’s going to lose but he’ll drag it out as long as possible.

But, waiting in the wings, also slated to be deposed in favor of the BBC? Jack Smith. Jack Smith is the prosecutor who was preparing to put Trump in prison before his case was derailed by a series of unfortunate events that let a corrupt DOiJ take control. Jack Smith has ALL of the details. Jack Smith recently testified to Congress that he felt sure he was going to convict Trump on the charges. The very LAST thing Trump wants is for Jack Smith to be deposed in the case. December 10. You mark my words…

Okay, so, honestly? I think it’s kind of funny. I don’t accept the ‘New York Times’ as a trustworthy news source. I haven’t since they helped 43 start his criminal war in Iraq. Remember the Yellowcake lies? But the Times has reported that the Democrats DID, indeed, recruit a candidate named Dan Sullivan to run against incumbent Dan Sullivan as a way to draw votes away from the incumbent.

Now the question: is that dirty or clever? Both, it seems. MAGA will be focusing, today, on the “dirty” side, outraged and furious that the Dems would stoop so low. They are less vocal about THEIR backing a Democratic candidate, Eric Hafner, in a House race. Hafner is running from a prison cell and drawing votes away from the main progressive candidate against Republican incumbent Rep. Nick Begich. Oh, yeah, the cell he’s campaigning from is in New York state! Hafner has never set foot in Alaska.

THAT one was a-okay with the cons. I thought I should mention it because you KNOW the cons aren’t going to. Our National Shame filed a preemptive lawsuit asking the court to rule that nobody is allowed to win but the Republican 47 prefers. No, those were not his exact words, but that’s the effect. The Dumbass didn’t file any lawsuits about Hafner running and drawing votes. It seems the Demented Don doesn’t think that’s rigging. It’s only rigging when the Dems to it to the cons, see. It’s clever when the cons do it to the Dems. In fairness to the GOP, Hafner wasn’t recruited. He filed his own paperwork. He’s just being backed by cons.

Our National Embarrassment is going to lose his suit. You see, in Alaska, the practice is legal. I DO believe that a guy running from a prison cell in a different state demonstrates a certain failure in the interpretation of the rules. Hafner is running in a House race. The Constitution says that one of the requirements is that the candidate must be an “inhabitant” of the state they seek to represent at the time of the election. Alaska’s Supreme Court, likely after smoking a HUGE blunt, decided that means the candidate doesn’t have to be an inhabitant of the state until they’re elected.

There’s no word on how Hafner becomes an inhabitant of Alaska while incarcerated in New York, but the court let him run because “anything might happen.” Hafner – a dangerous threat to society, by the way – says he expects a compassionate release if he wins. I’ll be more comfortable if the prison system has him serve his entire sentence.

Ancient history, right? Well, no. Hafner’s success will be judged this November 3rd, the same as Dan Sullivan’s. That means that right now, Alaska has two candidates on the ballot backed by one party to draw votes from the biggest threat in the other party. At least Dan Sullivan is an honest to gods resident of Alaska. But The Pedo is only complaining about one. Curious…

Hey, yet another example of a legal action based on nothing but pique. A judge has ruled that Maureen Comey was fired illegally and her job must be returned along with full back pay and benefits. So, Evil Don’s DOiJ has file yet another indictment against her father, James Comey. James once led the FBI. James understands trump is a criminal, so the right hates him.

Maureen brought a little heat of her own. She is a prosecutor. She was investigating the links between Trump and his best friend Jeffrey Epstein, two of the three leaders in what is proving to be an international child sex-trafficking ring. That’s why she was fired. The LAST thing Trump wants is a competent prosecutor looking into his child sex trafficking ring…

In response to Prop 40, rich people have gone out and hired a crew of work-a-day looking people to tell you why taxing rich people is probably a bad thing. They show, for example, an Hispanic woman dressed in a housekeeping outfit saying rich people shouldn’t have to pay taxes. Maybe she believes that. There are plenty of MAGA out there, not understanding things. Then again, maybe she’s an actress who wanted the acting job. Perhaps she needed the pay.

But the One Percent certainly can’t portray Jay Gatsby saying he doesn’t think he and his rich friends should have to pay. That’s too obvious. So they put out a working-class looking type. It seems more likely the people in the ads are the heirs to the fortunes, playing dress-up, trying to convince the poors to keep suffering so the rich never have to. It’s rather a sorry comment on the electorate that it works…

When Checks Become Unbalanced…

I was talking to a friend of mine who asked me if I thought Americans would fall out into the streets in huge numbers if Team Evil interferes with the outcome of the elections to steal it. I used to believe in our revolutionary spirit, so I wanted to say, “Yes, of course.” The thing is, I don’t. I don’t think enough Americans will fall out to make a difference.

We SHOULD, no doubt. But we’ve just taken it on the chin, over and over as the One Percent have bashed us, nonstop, with one un-American reality after another. We’ve had plenty of reasons to hit the streets like they do in France. We’ve even had some success with No Kings Days. But one day of protests from time to time doesn’t get the job done and we haven’t had any general strikes or open-ended No Kings movements. Any tyrant can ignore a one-day protest.

But why are we, the inheritors of one of the most successful revolutions in history, just sitting back and taking it? Where’s our revolutionary spirit when we need it? My current working theory is that our revolutionary spirit has been tucked safely into the ballot box and the courts for safekeeping. At least, that’s what Americans are depending upon.

In our history, one of those two has always protected the nation. Americans have become accustomed to the process. That is to say, Americans have become accustomed to relying upon the checks and balances that have served us so well for so long, and we’re ill-equipped to respond when the checks become unbalanced.

We’ve had miserable politicians before. For the most part, by and large, we vote them out when we get the chance. There have been a couple of impeachments when we couldn’t (or wouldn’t) wait for a vote. When the voting process is too far between, we can count on the courts. Well, we could, and in fairness, so far, the lower courts have been holding the line and respecting the Constitution.

But that’s why the One Percent worked so hard to corrupt higher courts, most especially the so-called Supreme Court. Cheat Justice John Roberts and his toadies stand ready to service the highest bidder, and the One Percent have more money than the rest of us combined. MAGA Mike, the Johnson is also an obvious threat. Will he certify the actual outcomes and seat the winning candidates? Has he done a single honorable thing since you became aware of his disgusting existence? Do you think he’s going to start now?

EVERY indicator suggests the Democrats should take control of the House of Representatives and there’s a better than average chance to flip the Senate as well. EVERY person (expect MAGA) knows it. So what do we do when that becomes the reported outcome, but Team Evil starts screaming and yelling about cheating and refusing to seat incoming pols?

I think what the American people will do when that happens is…wait. We’ll wait for the inevitable lawsuits to work their way through the system. Meanwhile, the One Percent’s media will barrage the airwaves with stories about the faults of this race or that outcome. We’ve already been told not to believe the results of exit polling, the gold standard of polling. Many of us have accepted that fraud. Too many of us will accept more.

In short, we’re being made victims of our own success. The process has served us so well for so long, we just trust that it’s going to save us again. It always has in the past. It’s not an unreasonable position. Except this is the first time the nation has faced an intentional threat, designed and implemented to undermine the Constitution and the process.

People have always done questionable things in their quests for power, but this is the first time people are willingly doing despicable and criminal things to maintain power permanently. I fear that by the time we realize our stalwart bulwarks have failed us, it will be too late…

Eddie Murphy once starred in a film called, ‘The Distinguished Gentlemen’ in which a challenger takes advantage of name recognition to win an improbable upset. Murphy’s character has the same name as a recently deceased but very popular politician, so he puts his name in the hat and wins. It turns out, life is imitating art with the main difference being that the incumbent isn’t dead. His name is Dan Sullivan and he’s running. The thing is, he’s running against another Dan Sullivan.

Demented Don supports the incumbent Dan Sullivan. The Drumpfster is just sure the second Dan Sullivan is running to confuse voters by having the same name. There IS the slight problem that BOTH Dan Sullivans are running as Republicans. Also, the challenger Dan Sullivan and the Democrats, themselves, deny they have anything to do with challenger Dan Sullivan’s challenge.

But 47 has stuck his nose in anyway. Our National Embarrassment had his DOiJ (that’s the Department of inJustice) file a lawsuit in Alaska, seeking to block certification of the election unless the guy he wants wins. That’s a weird lawsuit, even from this very weird guy. He has already confessed (bragged) that he gave the order, shattering the pretense of an independent DOiJ. “Well, I’m the one that said ‘do it,” he told reporters. That checks. It’s a very stupid move.

I’m no lawyer but I don’t see how a guy can win such a suit, unless they can find solid, irrefutable proof that it’s some kind of scheme between the Dems and the challenger. Even then, the state has already decided that challenger Sullivan can run. It’s really moot. Besides, as of this writing, the Democrat, Mary Peltola, is leading by a large enough margin that if you combined the two Dan Sullivan’s outcomes, she’s still ahead.

47 has tipped his hand. Everybody on the planet (except ever-gullible MAGA) knows the GOP intends to cheat as aggressively as possible. Asking courts to refuse winning candidates for no reason other than The Demented Don doesn’t like them seems like one arrow in that cheating quiver. But the main point to this story is that there IS rigging being attempted in this election – it’s just that it’s being done by Republicans – the Drumpfster, in particular – not Democrats…

So, just a quick catch-up, yeah? Israel entered into a cease-fire agreement against Palestinians in Gaza and now the West Bank. Since then, they’ve killed over 1,000 Palestinians and injured over 3,000 more. The military is still involved but now citizens have taken over the killing and harassment and the Israeli government is doing nothing. No, that’s wrong. They’re not “doing nothing.” They’re encouraging the assaults, then acting all surprised and “tut-tuting” in all the right places.

Now Israeli security forces are even detaining American citizens. In some cases, Jewish American citizens. Those who have been blindly supporting Israel no matter what will think nothing of it, of course. It may not be a perfect genocide – the Israeli’s may not care if Palestinians leave. Israel’s message is more like, “You don’t have to die, but you can’t stay here.” It IS, very clearly, an ethnic cleansing in the region.

Israel is taking land they have no right to and they’re doing it by force. They’re doing it with the support of the US government and under cover of a “cease-fire agreement.” Historically, it’s VERY reminiscent of when the Europeans landed at Plymouth Rock and started moving west, pushing the First Nations aside all along the way. Except, Israel isn’t even offering Palestinians crappy little reservations. They’ve just got to go. Go where? Not Israel’s problem…

“My Precious Would Never…”

Look, I know how hard it can be. It can be a real nightmare, trying to determine which case is a real prosecution and which case is just to harass one’s political opponents. And it’s harder than it seems because deciding guilt based on whether you like the accused or not isn’t a very deliberative process. “My Precious would never…” is really bad law. It makes FAR more sense to decide a case on evidence. But how can a person know what evidence is real and what evidence is just made up out of whole cloth?

Maybe I can help. Let’s start here. You already know it’s a crime to falsify your business books, right? I mean, I’d call that common knowledge. So, IF authorities discover you’ve falsified your business books say, 34 times – for ANY reason, really – they might very well initiate an investigation. But how, pray tell, can you know if the prosecution is legitimate? Well, the case gets past the Grand Jury. That doesn’t mean much since we all know a Grand Jury can indict a ham sandwich.

But then the case gets to court. The court looks over what’s coming. The judge talks to the attorneys. The trial starts. The evidence is presented. Both prosecution and defense rest. A decision is handed down, guilty or not guilty. In a civil case the final step might be responsible or not responsible. But if a case goes through the entire process and comes to a verdict, one can safely assume the case was serious and legitimate.

On the other hand, if your case gets to the preliminary stages and gets tossed out of court due to lack of evidence or worse, exculpatory evidence that proves the accused didn’t do the thing they stand accused of, the case is probably just trumped up bunk. Say you accuse a one time Olympian of vandalizing a reflecting pool, only to have security camera footage prove the man did no such thing. The court will throw the case out with prejudice AND scold your prosecutor. That case was probably just a harassment prosecution.

This would be true if someone was accused of falsifying a mortgage application – or really, any other crime that can’t be proven. If the prosecutor can’t bring any valid evidence and/or if their case gets thrown out faster than it got filed, it’s probably a harassment prosecution. Think of that as a tell. Harassment gets thrown out quickly. Valid cases take time and usually finish the process, assuming the accused doesn’t have a couple of well-placed federal “judges” in his pocket, each thinking “My Precious would never…”

Team Evil has demanded that California set aside something like 20,000 ballots of people they have “identified” as possibly not being citizens. In this case, “identified” means “wild guess at Hispanic sounding names.” It’s a lie, of course. More, it’s illegal. The federal government has very little say in elections. Elections belong to the states. The “request” is already in court and Team Evil will lose. They know it. They don’t care. It’s not the setting aside of ballots they’re interested in. It’s the claim.

Now that the claim has been made, it can be used to challenge the results of California’s election. That’s the real goal. Maybe they can even try to keep from certifying California’s outcome as a result of their claim. Understand, the claim is false. Team Evil is lying. Here’s one hint: they keep insisting cheating has happened, even though the election has only just begun. They STARTED claiming cheating was happening long before the election had started.

Oh, it’s important to note, when the DOJ leveled the accusation, they didn’t include any information supporting the charge. Nothing. Most likely, because they don’t have any information supporting the charge. Just, “We say so.” Only idiots and acolytes believe what Team Evil says these days. I’ll be needing some proof…

Tomorrow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. It’s always tomorrow. Well, not always. When they’re on the campaign trail, it’s “Day One.” Remember 47 promising “Day One,” over and over again? Then, after the election, his position changed. “Hey, I just got here.” “This is hard.” “It’s going to take time.” Yeah, but that’s NOT what you promised. YOU said, “Day One” and insisted it would be easy.

Well, you’ve had your Day One. Hell, you’ve had your Day 635 and not only have you not solved even one of your economic promises, everything, everything, everything is worse for the working class. People are angry and ready to vote against your failed regime – so here come the empty promises again. “Oh, just stick with us. Everything’s juuuust about to bloom beautiful. Why, the day after the election, you’ll be fine. Everything will just…magically be fixed.” Promises. Empty promises…

As 47’s human decency reaches new lows, so do his polling numbers. He’s down to 33% approval, with each person still approving representing an ostrich with their heads in the sand. 66% of Americans believe 47 is using the Presidency to enrich himself. That stuns me. Only 66%?!? How blatant does he have to be? If I may paraphrase Paul Simon a bit, I guess a person sees what they want to see and they disregard the rest…

Wow. Did you know that no disaster relief funds have been released since Hurricane Milton in late 2024? There have been three major disasters since: the LA fires, a tornado in St Louis, Missouri, and flooding in Texas Hill country. Apparently, money is very hard to come by these days. Well, unless you want to destroy a reflecting pool. Or redecorate a White House, where some moron has spent nearly a billion dollars on gaudy glitz. Maybe you want to “renovate” a golf course, despite a judge’s order to stop.

Ballrooms? Sure, plenty of money for that. Multi-million dollar golf trips weekend after weekend? Gotcha covered. Money for dictator adversaries? Sure, we got that. There’s NO amount we can’t find for the Pentagon, the true black hole of the US budget. But if your house gets swept away in a tornado or a flood or burns to the ground? Oof, empty pockets, sorry. This country needs a better President…

A Possibly Comforting Thought…

I’m VERY distressed about the upcoming mid-terms. I presume I’m not alone. While most elections are presented as the most important ever, this one actually is. We’re about to determine if the country continues it’s horrific slide into tyranny, war, poverty, and deeply held stupidity, or if we can start to fix some of the many, many problems Republicans and rich people inflict on the country whenever they get the chance.

My concern is largely due to my belief that Presidential elections in this country are not fair or honest. I believe one side (the Republican side) cheats – and they do it by corrupting the voting machines. That causes me great distress as to the likelihood they’re going to try it again. But there’s a possible saving grace that may swoop in, last minute, to save the day.

Presidential elections come down to two people: the Democrat, who most Americans want to see in office, and the Republican, who has to steal the office to get in. Over the last three elections, the Democrat has been a different person each time: Clinton, Biden, and Harris. Over the same three elections, the Republican has been the same cheating, dirtbag, waste of human flesh: Donny “the Dumbass” trump.

In each of those elections, the outcome seems to have been rigged ONLY for the Presidential race. Down ballot candidates had to “win” with gerrymandering and slimy campaign tactics. It makes sense. From sea to shining sea, the Presidential race comes down to two people and only two people. It’s always first on the ballot. So everyone knows the position of the race on the ballot and the two people running. It would be a fairly straight-forward thing to rig dongles to flip a few of those votes – D to R – as they’re tallied.

I honestly believe that the Dumbass believes he won the 2020 election – because he paid the money. The fix was in on the machines. But because he’s so staggeringly incompetent at his job, Covid-19 forced people to vote on paper. In 2020, there was no “fix” for the paper ballots. The plan was to let corrupted machines do the dirty work. Really, the 2020 outcome is the best evidence that voting on a voting machine is a de facto vote for the Republican, though there are plenty of other tells.

According to the Dumbass himself, the GOP got better at cheating when Evil Elon figured a way to rig the mail-in ballot tallying machines in the swing states for 2024. Suddenly, the Dumbass “won” states in which he was projected to lose. And he “won” by just enough to prevent triggering an automatic recount, but no more. So now the GOP can corrupt voting machines AND the paper ballot tallying machines – but it’s still only for one race with only two candidates. All of this information causes me suspicion regarding the outcome of this mid-term, but also, in one sense, offers some possible comfort.

I see the ability to rig machines as a different issue entirely on down-ballot candidates. For one thing, there are SO MANY of them. For another, each district would have to have a different set of instructions. I’m not saying it’s not possible. These are evil people and where evil is involved, determination is a benefit. AI probably isn’t going to hurt their chances any, either. Think of people who hack others for money. No matter what protection people come up with to protect themselves or others, the bad guys will always seek an end run. They don’t just give up, and neither will Team Evil.

The comforting thought? I don’t think they can yet corrupt elections for many people in many places the way they can corrupt a Presidential election. Still, I can not just assume they’re not even trying and we, the people, won’t find out until those down-ballot elections start defying exit polls as well. It turns out, defeating Team Evil’s agenda in this mid-term will only be the first step. If we’re going to save our Republic, we have a LOT of work to do…

I’m saying, if you want to be able to go to a doctor when you need to, you’d better support Democrats in the mid-term. The effects of the GOP’s Big Beautiful Bill are kicking in with a vengeance. Oh, sure, you might still have your health insurance. But the cuts are causing facilities to close, too. Once closed, they’ll be very difficult to re-open. It might be impossible. How much good is your insurance if the nearest doctor is 200 miles away? We’d better get some grown-ups into Congress who can restore the funding the GOP gutted based on GOP lies.

Right now? It’s affecting maternity wards. 52 have closed since the Butt-ugly Bill was announced last year. 8 more are on the chopping block. Obviously, the closures will hit rural areas the hardest. Current trends indicate that in very short order, 96 counties are or will be without a labor and delivery unit. Because of so-called Free Market Capitalism, the United States already suffers one of the highest maternal mortality rates among high-income nations.

I guess it’s a good thing birth rates are down. There’s no place to have your baby anyway. Meanwhile, MAGA is out there parroting the question: why aren’t people having more (white) babies? Raising kids is hard enough without the government standing on your effing neck. I suspect MAGA is about to learn some VERY hard lessons about reality. It’s just a bummer the rest of us are trapped in their voyage of discovery with them…

It’s fairly straight-forward: RFJ, Jr and anit-vaxxers go on a campaign to discredit vaccines. People start getting the illnesses the vaccines prevented. People start dying of the illnesses the vaccine prevented. It’s all a direct line and was easily predictable – and predicted. SO, RFJ, Jr and anit-vaxxers start simply denying the people who died from those preventable illnesses didn’t die from those preventable illnesses.

These idiots seem to think they can just talk their way out of being so egregiously wrong. But they ARE wrong. They’re embarrassing themselves and humiliating their family name. They look like idiots and they’re putting people’s lives at risk – all to support some moronic political position. It’s a “culture war” thing. Whatever. You can’t talk your way out of facts. You can ignore them, but they remain facts. Turn your back on science, science keeps going anyway.

Vaccines protect people from some pretty horrible things and there is absolutely no valid evidence that vaccines cause autism. You can accept the benefits of vaccines or be an idiot. There is no third choice. But you absolutely, positively can NOT shout your way to health on the topic…

Whining And Whimpering…

In the run-up to the 2016 election, FBI agents monitoring questionable Russians discovered that some of those questionable Russians were communicating regularly with the trump campaign. MAGA hates this fact but, like all of the other facts they deny, it remains a fact. Also, it caused investigations. Hillary Clinton highlighted the contact. 47 denied it, of course. It led to MAGA mindlessly mouthing the mantra, “Russia, Russia, Russia” as if that meant he was innocent. He wasn’t.

In 2022, the puerile, petulant, pedo filed a lawsuit against Clinton and pretty much everyone else for telling the world his people had been in contact with the Russians. His lawsuit was so poorly presented, so weak on facts, so dependent upon questionable legal theories, the judge in the suit threw the case out and actually sanctioned the dotard a million dollars for wasting the court’s time.

Donny, of course, appealed. Just his luck, though, the appeals court upheld the ruling and the sanctions and not his whiny wishes. That is to say, he lost there, too. Now the Dumbass has asked his toadies on the Supreme Court to revive his dismissed lawsuit so he can harass Hillary some more. Obviously, there’s no “there” there so the SCOTUS should refuse the case, but there’s no telling what Cheat Justice John Roberts might do on any given day. When it comes right down to it, I preferred the Rule of Law rather than the Rule of Whining and Whimpering…

Red dye diesel. It’s for farm equipment and the like. 47 has made a desperate attempt to reduce diesel prices by lifting restrictions for red dye diesel in trucks. He said it will make more diesel available and reduce the cost of driving the trucks. You won’t be surprised to learn, he lied. Well, kind of. Automotive experts are warning drivers not to use red dye diesel in their vehicles.

It does cost less, so it would reduce the amount a trucker pays when filling his tanks. But it also leaves chemical residues in the engines that eventually lead to expensive repairs. Destroying one’s engine tomorrow to save a couple of bucks today seems like something other than a victory. I would call it more, um, stupid. So don’t use red dye diesel, even if a moron tells you it’s okay. He is, after all, a moron…

More evidence he plans to cheat? Sure. Easy. (Isn’t THAT sad?) He has banned international observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) from monitoring the mid-term elections. It’s the first time in over two decades the US has not welcomed these monitors. There’s not a single, valid reason to reject monitors if one expects to conduct a fair and honest election. Not one…

I’m thinking (hoping, really) this announcement of a live-streamed execution was a trial balloon. I think the moron regime wanted to see how it would play. So far, it hasn’t played well at all. There’s lots and lots (and, incidentally, lots) of pushback. I’m a little surprised by that, too. Ours is a bloodthirsty society. Getting a chance to see a defenseless human being in a wheelchair shot to death by firing squad seems just the thing that would please huge swaths of our morally failed nation.

Sadly, it might not have any impact. Have you seen the show ‘Reacher?’ I watch and enjoy the show so know that I’m not trying to moralize, here, but violence is a staple. In the last season (spoiler alert) Jack holds a bad guy in an elevator shaft until the elevator descends and takes the bad guy’s head with it. The thing is, I believe the man who “died,” didn’t. He got up after the director said “cut” and collected his paycheck for a day’s work. But I still watched a dude get “beheaded” by an elevator.

So I don’t know how much impact a firing squad will have. Sure, Hassan will get shot. Blood will spurt. He’ll tense, then he’ll sag, dead. Some people will celebrate the State killing a person to show that killing is wrong. Some people will be triggered. PTSD will be the order of the day. Oh, AND I guess we’re just supposed to ignore the association with brutal and terrorist states who also love public executions…

I’m learning a new song called, ‘Pumped Up Kicks.” It’s a snappy little pop tune that just happens to be about a kid named Robert who shoots up a school, or at least fantasizes about it. I think it’s just young people singing about what’s real in their world. I’m of the opinion that when our society accepted that the proper response to school shootings was active shooter drills, our national morality dropped to the lowest depths of the deepest outhouse…

Oh, 47 is mad again. He STILL didn’t get the Nobel Peace Prize. Set aside the idea that he doesn’t deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. Yeah, sure, he settled eight wars. Well, I, personally, have settled 63 wars and I still don’t have one either. Wait, you want proof? No, there’s no proof I did that. Just take my word for it and give me a prize, okay? Just like Donny wants you to do.

Unfortunately for him, the only evidence that exists indicates the opposite of peacemaker. Invading Venezuela? Murdering innocent fishermen in the Caribbean? His support for Israel in Gaza? Iran? I think the committee doesn’t give Peace Prizes to bloodthirsty warmongers.

But he’s still making strides in his effort to be a petulant little baby who whines and moans when he doesn’t get his way. The woman who DID win the Nobel Peace Prize this time, Navi Pillay, has been a human rights advocate for decades. She once served on the International Criminal Court. So, after crying in social media that he didn’t get his whiny way, the little bitch imposed sanctions on the ICC. He says they’re unfair to Americans (himself) and Israelis committing war crimes (Netanyahu). I’ve known three-year-olds with better emotional control…

Speaking of his stupid war in Iran, he keeps telling people it will be over quickly. To my mind, he first attacked Iran in June of 2025. That damned, dirty, “quick” little war has dragging on for over 15 months now – and counting! But even if we only count THIS round of violence, the US and Israel attacked without cause on February 28, 2026. That’s still eight months of what he keeps promising will be “quick,” and he’s already told us it isn’t ending until after the mid-terms. I think I’m going to need him to be more specific about “quick.” I do not think it means what he thinks it means. Then again, this moron might be talking “quick” in geological terms…

Senate Possibilities…

Alaska (traditionally red), Iowa (leans red), Maine (Closer to purple), Michigan (Purple), New Hampshire (Purple), Ohio (Red since 2016), and Texas (Red). North Carolina is leaning blue and Kansas is leaning red. These are the states that will decide if the Democrats gain control of the Senate, assuming a fair election. Democrats need to turn four seats to take control of the Senate.

That’s not going to be as easy as it sounds. Texas has a Democrat leading the race. The Republican was once impeached by his own party and he brags about his close relationship with the Pedophile President. You know, the one who has done so much damage to the United States in such little time. But the pedo-supporting, scandal-ridden Republican is still in the race. It’s close, in fact.

In Michigan, the Democrat has a slight lead but he also has a foreign sounding name that scares cons and he’s been endorsed by Bernie Sanders. The Republican may or may not live in Michigan, which is a problem. Worse, he’s MAGA and people (except MAGA, of course) have kind of seen what MAGA has to offer: high prices, war, and unnecessary struggles every day. This, despite promises. Michigan tends to send Democrats to the Senate but again, the Democrat has a scary name.

The race in Iowa is too close to call at this point, but even that is a hopeful sign for the Dems. Iowa has not sent a Democrat to the Senate since 2008 and has been leaning right for a while, so the close race could suggest a shift as people feel the pain so generously dished out by Donny and the GOP. Most voters in Iowa are rural. Farmers. And farmers have been feeling the pain of trump policies more than most.

Susan Collins (R) of Maine is currently trailing in her race. Word is, she consistently “overperforms.” Overperforms is a euphemism meaning the candidate did better than expected according to metrics. I suspect “overperforms” means “cheats,” but that’s just a personal hunch. It’s not like I check every day to see what Collins is up to, but what I know of her tells me she’s a loyal Republican who votes with trump far too often but lies about it on a regular basis. She’s in disguise. Wears sheep’s clothing one might say.

It’s tough for some of us to imagine that anybody would vote Republican today. Well, anybody in the working class, which is most of us. But it’s important to remember, they have alternative stories for every single disaster this country is suffering. To hear them tell it, the failures are never the Drumpfster’s fault, most especially when they clearly are. The blame, as far as they know, always falls to a Democrat. That’s their rule. Sure, it’s a stupid rule, but they live by it. Garbage in, garbage out, right? It matters not that they are being deceived. They are, and they’ll vote according to what they believe, not what’s real…

I oppose the death penalty. I question the wisdom and morality of allowing a state to claim the right to kill it’s own citizens and I question the value of the killings. They’re not deterrent to anyone who thinks they’ll get away with their murder – which is everyone committing murder. The ONE thing they accomplish is people don’t have to pay to maintain the prisoner any more, but I think that’s just one of those burdens of society we have to shoulder.

But the US does kill it’s own citizens, or tries to. We’ve mostly shifted from hanging, shooting, electrocutions, and poison gas once so common to the process to the more “civilized” lethal injections. For reasons I don’t understand, the lethal injections are not always lethal. I don’t understand that because we have people who don’t want to die, dying every single day from overdoses of fentanyl. Couldn’t a state intentionally overdose someone to death?

No, they use some “humane” combination of drugs. Well, they did. The company that made their favorite killing drug has denied the use of their drug for the purpose. States that kill have scrambled to find alternatives. They don’t always work. The most recent failure was this woman in Tennessee, who now survives on a ventilator because they couldn’t mange to kill her – twice. That’s not so much an eye for an eye as “we’ll teach YOU a lesson you won’t soon forget!” I’m not sure what good a “lesson” is to a dead person…

There’s a vaguely boat-shaped rock formation in Turkey. Christians have focused on the formation as the “likely” remains of the fictional Noah’s Ark. Now that they’ve decided it’s probably the Ark, all they need is to find the evidence that supports their wish. True, they’ll also have to discard any evidence that conflicts with their preference, but Christians are very good at that.

For as long as I can remember, Christians have been looking for physical proof of events in their special storybook, the Bible. Noah’s Ark is a favorite. Other researchers have already found “remains of the Ark” in other places. One time, a piece of wood was found high up on a mountain. Since that tree didn’t grow on that mountain, it must be the Ark, right? How else could a piece of wood end up on a mountain?

If you need that piece of wood to be part of the Ark, you simply dismiss the idea that someone may have taken wood up there at some point for some other reason. These researchers will find what they’re looking for, too. It’s all they want to see. They won’t just decide it was once a boat. It WILL BE the Ark. The question in my mind is, how did you determine it was the actual Ark? I mean, even if it was a boat, what evidence is there that it’s Noah’s actual Ark?

Did you find captain’s logs? Did you find a sign? Did Noah take the time to christen his ship, ‘The Ark?’ Did you find Unicorn bones under Ostrich feathers? So far, they’re hanging their hats on “high organic matter content.” That’s it. No, not the bodies of the animals. That would suck, wouldn’t it? God gets you to build a huge Ark and stuff it with two of each animal, only to get to where you’re going and have all the animals die at the end?

No, the “organic material” is from the Ark, itself. As the boat decayed, the wood crumbled into the spot and became the increased organic material that, in their minds, must be the proof that every word in the Bible is absolutely valid. That’s the end goal. Prove the Bible is true by proving something – anything – from the book. They STILL manage to avoid the bits they don’t like, though.

Do you suppose Christians will adhere more closely to the teachings of Jesus (or Joshua, as the case may be) if someone could find Noah’s Ark? I ask because I watch how Christians behave, today, and truthfully, I seriously doubt it. I’m not sure anything could get these people to follow Jesus’ teachings…

Shut ‘Er Down – Again…

Word is, MAGA Mike, the Johnson is shutting down the House two weeks early. Obviously, there’s going to be speculation in the media as to why. One idea I heard was that the GOP knows it’s in such deep trouble in the upcoming mid-terms, (now only 55 days away) they need to get out there and campaign more. Plausible, right? The GOP IS in trouble. Maybe campaigning more will help.

Oh, but then, what’s this? Oh, hey, it looks like Thomas Massie was working to force a House vote on the Trump/Epstein Files Transparency Act II. The Trump/Epstein Files Transparency Act II would strengthen the enforcement mechanisms of the original transparency law, including giving certain victims and officials a way to challenge the inJustice Department over the withholding or redaction of covered records.

What?!? STILL trying to get the Trump/Epstein files released in whole? Well, then, shutting down the House seems like an excellent dodge. It’s true, they won’t be working. They’ll still be getting paid, though, won’t they? I think the whole thing sets the example of how work life should be, don’t you? Oh, you’re sick? Maybe dead? Stay home. Don’t even call. Take as long as you like, months maybe. You’ll still receive your full pay and benefits AND all of your bribes and other “gratuities” and, um, campaign contributions. That will be the McConnell rule.

When I re-wrote the Constitution, I added a clause that reads, “Members of government may not exempt themselves from laws applying to the general population, nor grant themselves privileges unavailable to the general population except as provided herein.” That would include things like endless time off at full pay. Fifteen days PTO. Then? Get your ass back to work or the money stops until you do…

On September 11, 2001, the only thing the Drumpfster said about the attack was that now he owned the tallest building in New York City. That was his only concern, because, obviously, he only cares about himself. AFTER that, though, he has made up several stories – ALL of which steal honor from the first responders who actually DID go down to the rubble and start digging.

It bugs me a lot. That useless waste of human flesh will steal honor from anybody at any time. We all know Cadet Bone Spurs ran away from his opportunity to serve. Hell, he comes from a long line of cowards. These days, he’s releasing AI generated pictures of himself in a military uniform – clothing he was never man enough to wear in real life.

He runs around on each anniversary of 9/11 lying that he was in the building, at the building, near the building, or went down to the building afterwards. (The specifics depend on the moment.) He sent a crew, or he took a crew. Mind you, there’s no record of any of it. People were not just coming and going at ground zero. They were admitted and their names recorded. People were taking photos. Not one piece of evidence supports his lies that he was there.

He wasn’t there. He used the opportunity to grab a spotlight and shine it on himself, bragging about now owning the tallest building in Manhattan. You will not be surprised to learn, THAT was a lie, too. It’s all this guy does. Lie…

Well, straight up bribery is an idea, too. 47 went to the first night of his Mid-Term Republican convention and blathered for awhile. While he was blathering, he promised every US citizen $5,000 if Republicans control Congress after the election. Uh-huh. I’ll just put that over here, next to my $5,000 DOGE dividend and my $2,000 tariff rebate. I wonder if some people are stupid enough to still believe his promises of money. The money never materializes and would only add to the debt if it did. Everybody is laughing at him. Again. He should have tried doing the job well. That would have worked best…

(I thought we might like a break from the horrors of our reality, these days.) The NFL started it’s season LAST night. It was a Wednesday night. Through the years, the NFL has expressed it’s greed by – well, every way they can think of, really, but in this case, they keep taking on new nights to broadcast the games.

The 2026 season officially kicked off on Wednesday. The NFL “explained” they had to open on Wednesday because their international game from Australia created a “scheduling conflict.” The thing is, the NFL does the scheduling. They knew they already had a game scheduled for Thursday, so why schedule another? Why, it almost seems as though they intended a scheduling conflict, just to make sure they could try to grab another weeknight.

“No,” they’d tell me. “It was just an unfortunate oversight.” Oh. Okay. Um, so why the SECOND Wednesday night game, the night before Thanksgiving? I think it’s bad for the game – saturation – but I KNOW it’s bad for the players. American football is a brutal sport. The players need time to recover from the games. Look for increasing injuries as the NFL adds days. Some of them will be serious. Serious injury to marquee players keeps them off of the field. That, too hurts the game. (Not to mention the player.)

And never forget, watching an NFL football game on television is one of the very worst time investments a person can make. The viewer gives the NFL three and a half hours of their lives, 210 minutes, for which the viewer gets up to 11 minutes of action. Total. 11 minutes.

I’m not sitting in judgment. I’ve been doing it for years. I mitigate the laziness by doing my laundry on Sundays. At least I’m doing something. One can rationalize Monday night football as being tired at the beginning of the week. After that it gets harder to justify. Thursday has been a real push for me since it started. I’m not on board with Wednesdays, at all…

Why Paper Is Better…

I’ve been writing, recently, about how mail-in ballots are the safest way to vote. I haven’t gone into the why, so this morning, I thought I’d offer a view of one aspect. For the purposes of this piece, let’s say I’m a politician facing a backlash for my policies and positions. People hate me because I’m clearly incompetent and clearly robbing the nation blind. The masses want me gone. If I don’t retain control of the Senate, I’ll likely be impeached, then face a criminal probe.

So the upcoming election is very important to me. I need to win. I don’t just want to win – everybody wants to win. I NEED to win. So much so, I’m perfectly willing to cheat. I’ll start immediately by inoculating the charges of cheating by constantly accusing my opponent of cheating. For this example, we’re looking at holding the Senate. There’s a Senate race taking place and I need MY guy to win. I’ll be using California. Simple enough premise, right?

One of the things I think people don’t think about it this: election officials don’t just prepare one ballot and send it out to everyone. They have to capture races and issues that may affect one area but not another. Here in Sonoma County, we don’t get to vote on local issues in other counties. Remember, this is an extremely simplified example.

We know we have the Senate race. That race will be on every ballot in the state. But Sonoma County might have an issue that only affects Sonoma County. That issue will be on ballots for Sonoma County voters but not other counties. Makes sense, right? Now, there are two congressional districts that touch Santa Rosa, the fourth and the second. Let’s say the fourth has an issue that affects only the fourth. That issue won’t show up on everybody’s ballot – only the ballots of affected voters. That’s three different ballots that need to be sorted, printed, and delivered to the affected voter in Sonoma County alone, but we’re not done, yet.

Santa Rosa might have it’s own issue that needs deciding as well. That means yet another, separate ballot for Santa Rosans. Santa Rosa, itself, is broken into council districts. We could easily have an issue that affects the seventh district but not the others. Yet another ballot. We’re up to five different ballots for the same election. In reality, there are far more. Each town in Sonoma County could have their own issue requiring their own ballots, but for our purposes, I’m stopping at five.

Five ballots for Sonoma County. California has 58 counties. That means, in our simplified scenario, California has to print 290 different ballots and I say again, that number is low. So that’s our situation. Now it’s time for me to cheat. If I can get everybody to vote on machines, my work is comparatively simple.

You see, I’m only interested in the Senate race. I don’t care about any other issues on any other ballots. EVERY ballot has the Senate race. I need only create a few dongles that flip votes in the Senate race and get them to the areas I need to affect. (Dongles are the plug-in devices pollsters use to summarize the votes, perhaps alter the results, and transmit the data.)

But if there are no machines? If we all use mail-in ballots? How do I cheat? My first task is to re-create the ballot for a specific area. It’s got to be perfect and I have to do that for many areas, getting them all exactly right. Even if I mark the Senate race for my guy and leave the rest blank, the rest of the ballot has to be there. Now I’ve got to get my forged ballots into the counting arena. Do I just bring them in and drop them off? Registrars know how many ballots they sent out and to where. What happens when they send out 1,000 ballots and get back 1,500? I’m pretty sure that’s going to trigger an audit.

So now I have to add my 500 forged ballots and remove 500 legitimate ballots, so the total is correct. You can have fewer ballots, but you can’t have more. You can already see how much harder it is to manipulate a mail-in ballot voting system. You can’t just invisibly flip one race with corrupt dongles. There’s a reason I keep railing against mail-in voting – while voting by mail myself.

This, by the way, is WHY Biden won in 2020 AND why Donny is so absolutely certain HE won. HE allegedly paid the money and had the machines rigged and ready to go, but Covid-19 forced everyone to use mail-in ballots and it’s just too complex to cheat with those things. If we, the people, are to get rid of one type of voting or the other, I’d say let’s dump the cheating machines and stick with mail-in ballots. But then, I support fair elections. Not everybody does…

I don’t want to get too far out ahead of my skis, here, but it looks more and more like 47’s influence is waning. Not gone, not by a long-shot. But more and more people seem to be seeking ways to distance themselves from the deeper MAGA movement. To that end, a guy named Rich Logis founded a support group called ‘Leaving MAGA.’ Logis was once MAGA himself. He understands how hard it can be to break the bonds of MAGA. It’s not just the political ideology. There’s a sense of community, of belonging, that one loses, as well. That can be scary.

About ‘Leaving MAGA,’ the Guardian wrote, “Launched in 2024, the movement turned non-profit is built on the premise that abandoning the MAGA identity – and the community surrounding it – functions less like changing one’s mind and more like leaving a high-control religious group, fighting a disease or breaking an addiction. It requires not just rejecting a set of beliefs but rebuilding an entire structure of belonging and identity.”

According to the article, many people leaving MAGA feel badly, afterwards, about the harm they helped to inflict while they were deeply in the movement. Often, the scales fall from eyes as some of that harm comes back to bite them. In Logis’ case, he was shocked out of the movement after the Uvalde shooting, when the MAGA response was exactly what he expected. Whatever the motive, breaking the spell of the movement isn’t easy. Leaving MAGA makes the point that support is important for those around the person trying to break said addiction.

It’s like belonging to certain churches. Step even slightly outside the accepted thinking, and this same group that once provided such warmth and loving, “unconditional” support, such community, will turn on you like a pack of rabid hyenas, ready to tear you to shreds. That sudden, unexpected venom actually helps the person realize they’ve been on the wrong path, but it’s still scary to find oneself suddenly cut loose from community and friendship and support.

Leaving MAGA steps in to help. Not only does it help the person trying to leave the movement, it helps those of us around them to understand what the MAGA person might be going through. It preaches support, not surrender. People who avoided being sucked in should, properly, provide a safe space for rank-and-file members to flee to.

If you know a MAGA who seems to be wavering, tell them about ‘Leaving MAGA.’ Don’t expect miracles. Don’t expect overnight change. Just offer your MAGA a place to turn so they don’t feel so cut off, so alone. It might be just the lifeline they need…

4 in 10,000,000….

I saw this in the Guardian, “A report by the Brookings Institution published in 2025 found that mail voting fraud occurred in only about four cases out of every 10 million mail ballots cast.” 4 in 10,000,000. And it’s often high-profile conservatives doing the fraud, in an attempt to “prove” their delusions. Donny is trying to convince the rubes that mail voting fraud is rampant. It’s everywhere. Anybody can do it. It’s SO unsafe. Except when he does it. Then it works just fine – because he’s a liar and a hypocrite.

As expected, another legal hold has been placed on his Executive Order (EO) in which he desperately tries to eliminate the one weakness in his plans for a coup. When the EO was first signed, 23 states filed a lawsuit to stop it, based on the fact that the constitution gives control of the electoral process to the states. A federal judge agreed. Then, corrupt John Roberts overturned that finding, saying it was premature.

47 wants to create a federal list of “eligible” voters. I’ve spent time trying to figure out how that might be a beneficial thing for the nation. I can’t think of a single reason that makes sense. I CAN think of a reason that benefits HIM, personally. And, really, what does he care about except himself? See, if he has a list of all of the voters, he can pick and choose. A Republican voter is “eligible.” A Democratic voter is not. Independents would have to be decided by region. Likely (based on, say, address) red independents might be okay. Likely blue independents are certainly not.

But after the ruling, clever Team Evil submitted a slightly different plan, this one focused on efforts to disrupt by the USPS, another federal agency with no authority over the process. THIS time, the USPS tried to create such a mailing nightmare, there just wouldn’t be time for states to comply. “Oh, too bad,” says Team Evil, “I guess you’ll just have to use voting machines, eh?” Nope. That triggered the basis for the new lawsuit as dictated by Roberts.

The federal judge overseeing this whole, trump-induced mess is Indira Talwani and she placed a hold on the proposed changes for this election and wrote, “Plaintiff states have neither time nor funds to design new mail ballots, seek approval of the new designs, order production of mail ballots, update their own election management systems, train election officials to use the USPS portal and upload citizen data to the portal, all before the midterms.”

In short, she turned the effort on it’s head. Team Evil meant to leave insufficient time to comply, thereby short-circuiting mail-in voting as an unfortunate consequence, but the good judge said because there wasn’t enough time to comply, Team Evil can’t impose the changes at this late date. The legal battle continues.

Obviously, Donny will try for a quick appeal to his corrupt kangaroos. The Constitution is VERY clear about voting and who controls the process. Will they vote in accordance with the law, or in keeping with the desires of their Precious? Inquiring minds want to know. The clock is running out on him, though. What Talwani wrote is correct. There’s just no time to comply with the new rules for this election. That doesn’t even speak to the fact that the goal is illegal. It’s a state’s rights issue, like it or not.

To me, this whole charade feels desperate. 47 seems to be flailing. He knows his fate if he can’t rig the elections. He knows he CAN rig the machines. He’s done that before. He also knows he can’t rig mail-in voting. He knows he must get rid of that option somehow. He just doesn’t know how. I believe this USPS effort will fail. After that, all he has left is trying to declare some national emergency that somehow means no voting at all, or fraudulent declarations of how “unfair” the election was…

A teletype operator uses his insider information with Team Evil to place bets on a “prediction market” and makes $104,000. HIS fine? $172,000. Everything he won, plus a fine on top of that. See? Courts DO know how to hand down effective punishments. They just won’t do it to billionaires…

There’s a sub-Reddit on the Reddit website called ‘Leopards Ate My Face.’ It refers to conservatives who have supported 47 and Team Evil, only to see the policies they love for other people suddenly applied to themselves. They always seem surprised. Immigration is a biggie. Someone gets hooked up for overstaying their visa or just sneaking in but, in each case, otherwise obeying the law. “Hey,” they cry, “he said he was only going after violent criminals.”

He DID say that, too. I sometimes wonder if MAGA has anything, even one item they can point to, of an actual promise made, promise kept. Immigration is the closest I can think of, but even that isn’t being handled the way he said. Team Evil likely grabbed up some real bad guys. But they’ve also grabbed up regular Joes (or, maybe Joses) who contribute to our society even though their paperwork isn’t quite up to snuff.

THEN, Team Evil started grabbing people who ARE in the country legally. Hell, they started interfering with the immigration process to create the crime, then they want to deport their victim. It’s a crappy attitude and I can only give 47 half credit on immigration because the implementation is so much worse than the promise.

Do you remember, or have you ever heard the name, Milo Yiannopoulos? He’s a standard, far-right provocateur. He had a moment in the spotlight a few years back because his whole shtick was about being far-right outrageous. He was editor at Breitbart “News,” a far-right misinformation site. His star faded when he condoned sex with boys as young as 13 years old. (They deny it, but conservatives clearly condone sex with children. Actions speak louder than words, folks.)

Anyway, Yiannopoulos has been a vocal supporter of Team Evil’s immigration policies. He even suggested they might not be harsh enough. Then, one of his same-team detractors with whom he was feuding, Laura Loomer, claims to have turned him in to ICE for overstaying his visa. He was deported Friday! Ha-ha!

Many of us used to know and use a phrase that said, “What goes around, comes around.” I’m not happy about any of the things Team Evil is doing, but I DO enjoy when Team Evil does their evil things to their own supporters. Nobody’s Cheating But Donny…

So… Donald Trump is out there claiming that that last couple of elections have been rigged. Republicans control the House of Representatives. Republicans control the Senate. A Republican is currently “President.” But the last couple of elections have been rigged? Is he suggesting the Democrats rigged the 2020 election while HE was President? Did the Democrats rig the 2024 election in favor of the Republicans, who won most of it?

Maybe he’s just confessing through his normally lying mouth that Republicans have cheated in every possible way at every possible turn? But he won’t shut up about it. He has the obsession of an Alzheimer’s patient who became focused on some trivial thing and now can NOT let it go. Okay. I have randomly decided I believe him, for the moment. The 2024 election was rigged. There’s not a single Republican who won his or her seat honestly and they should be removed immediately. This is not from me. This is from Donny, himself.

“What I want to do is this. I just want to find, uh, 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state.” Do you remember that? That’s the Dumbass himself, working as hard as he could to cheat in an election, so we KNOW Donny was cheating and/or trying to. I would like somebody, ANYBODY to show me some evidence that supports Donny’s lies that is at least as clear as his request of Brad Raffensperger. “I just want to find, uh, 11,780 votes…”

But nobody can DO that, can they? There IS no evidence of cheating that so clearly supports the charge – from anywhere else, really. And Donny didn’t just get upset that he lost the election he put so much effort into cheating to win. (There’s a reason he wants you using voting machines instead of mail-in ballots, and it ain’t vulnerability.) He also bragged that “nobody knows” tabulating machines like the cheating con Elon Musk, who, Donny suggests, manipulated said tabulating machines in 2024 just enough to give Donny his ever-so-slim victory.

Seems like the solution is MUCH simpler than his stupid SAVE My Ass Act. Really, if he wants to stop elections from being rigged, all he has to do is stop rigging them…

Oh, SNAP! The benefits, I mean. SNAP is the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program. It provides some food for struggling citizens. Well, it did. Now the cruel regime is cutting SNAP benefits and increasing the requirements to qualify. They’re also shifting more of the cost to individual states. Some states can absorb that cost – to a degree. Other states (largely red, noticeably) can not. Or, perhaps WILL not. Either way, it’s possible entire states will leave the program. I think we had better get ready for an increase in crime. It will be low-level stuff, but it’s coming.

Mostly, the cons try to hide their evil doings until AFTER the mid-terms, and, indeed, SNAP gets an even harsher gut-punch after the election. But they’re starting in on SNAP now anyway. That seems like a bit of an oversight, to me. Maybe the idea is, they can start cutting now and the public won’t find out about the consequences before the election. But here’s the point I think will rule the day: people need to eat. Once assistance is no longer available, those same people STILL need to eat. Do the cons really just think those folks will curl up and die? They won’t.

What they WILL do is engage in petty thefts and other low-level crimes in an attempt to eat and/or feed their families. What choice do they have? “Well, they could get jobs,” sneer the very comfortable pols. Mostly? They HAVE jobs. The US is a huge nation of what are called “working poor,” because what else could you expect from the ‘Richest country on Earth?’™ Many people in this country work their asses off all week and still can’t make ends meet in our brutal and selfish society.

These creepy cons in Congress WILL cut SNAP benefits, but they WILL NOT increase the minimum wage to ensure the workers get enough pay to survive. In short, they’re leaving people no choice but to do what they’ve got to do to survive. Brutal America sucks and it will become an increasingly unpleasant place to be for anybody NOT in the One Percent…

The next time you’re talking to some Israeli sympathizer who thinks anybody questioning Israeli tactics is antisemitic, point them to the current news that Israel is building MORE illegal settlements in Gaza and the West Bank. My read on the entire situation focuses on these actions. Encroachment after encroachment. The Palestinians know it’s happening every day and they get mad about it.

Nobody will (or, perhaps, can) stop Israel and so Israel doesn’t stop. But they’re stealing the land and the people they’re stealing it from don’t like that. Israel’s constant, relentless, slow-moving invasion is why I support the Palestinians over there. It has nothing to do with Judaism. It’s all about the actions of a government, not a religion, and those government actions stink. You’d think so, too, if it was YOUR home being stolen…

Okay, so I understand it’s a game of the media to find the very worst examples of “the other side” and then pretend they are just standard representations of that side. But some of the messages going out to some of the weaker thinkers in our midst are proving dangerous in unexpected ways.

Take the case of Andrea Shaw, a woman who stands accused of murdering her two children. Twins. They were suffocated. I don’t know who did what but I know her defense isn’t going to work. She says it was vaccines that killed her kids. Can you imagine being SO enthralled to fake news you’d try to blame the murder of your children on a conservative talking point? I’m thinking Mrs. Shaw isn’t exactly the most dazzling star in the sky.

This, um, person (and I use the term lightly) really thinks she can make a case that she got her kids vaccinated and then they died – eight days later! She actually believes vaccines are SO deadly, she could hide a murder behind them and nobody would even question it. But the whole vaccine story is just pure unadulterated horse dung. It’s not going to hold up in court because vaccines aren’t dangerous in the way the right pretends – and they don’t suffocate babies eight days later. I suspect Shaw is looking at a couple of life sentences because she believes conservative propaganda. That’s a pretty high price…
