For the last nearly fifty years, the United States has suffered under the delusion of supply side economics, known better as “trickle down,” and most accurately as “voodoo economics.” It’s a lie. It has always been a lie. It was a lie when Reagan tricked people into believing it. It’s a lie now. It will always be a lie. Money doesn’t trickle down from rich people unless some mechanism exists to force them to trickle a little – like a proper tax system.
But there IS a trickle system. It’s just that it trickles up, not down. More, it’s not money. It’s pain. Think of it like an apartment building. Let’s say it’s ten stories tall. If there’s a fire on the tenth floor, the people living on the ninth might not even notice. The people on the tenth floor have so many safeties and built-in protections, the fire might be extinguished before it even gets going. Wealth has it’s benefits.
But when a fire breaks out on the first floor? The people on the second floor become aware of it almost right away. As the fire spreads around the second floor, the people on the third floor start feeling the heat. As the fire burns the third floor, people on the fourth know they’re in trouble. Fire, you see, “trickles” up.
Now, think of my burning apartment building as a metaphor for our economy. The fire in question will be started on October 1, with the newest portion of the Republican “big, beautiful budget” taking effect. It was installed last year. Some of it’s provisions have taken effect, but most of the most egregious effects were intentionally delayed.
The GOP knew those provisions were going to hurt people badly. As a result, the people might not want to vote for the GOP anymore. Even at the time, they had their eyes on the mid-terms. So, they set the worst, most painful portions of their evil little program to trigger after the 2026 mid-terms, 46 days from now. They start with the new fiscal year, beginning October 1. You think the economy is struggling now? Just wait until these provisions kick in.
You see, there’s a huge swath of people in this, the great, richest country on Earth™ who may or may not eat tonight, even with assistance. When you take that assistance away, desperation sets in. It’s true, they may not be the big spenders in society, but they’re complete spenders. Whatever they get, they spend. They have to. Desperately poor people ALWAYS have needs, not just desires, and they spend. But much (most?) of what they spend is government assistance. Exactly the thing the GOP is promising to rip away.
The poorest of the poor not spending is the fire on the first floor. The working poor feel it next, as layoffs follow the spending downturn. As retail outlets start laying off workers due to reduced sales, those workers stop spending. Since people aren’t buying, manufacturers stop building and start laying off workers. That’s the third floor and the fire keeps rising.
That’s what we’re looking at as this new budget starts. There’s exactly ONE way to stop this disaster: vote Democrat. IF the Dems can win – which is not what they’re paid to do, by the way – they could, theoretically, vote to undo some of the GOP damage. I’m not saying they will. Ever since Citizens United, Dems are owned and operated by the same hyper-wealthy people that own the GOP. It’s the reason the Dems stopped representing the working class. They’re not allowed to.
But I can absolutely guarantee the GOP won’t do anything to help. They’re the group that did the damage in the first place – and it wasn’t an oversight or an accident. And, no, it certainly was not Biden. The GOP inflicted this pain on the most vulnerable in our society, and they did it on purpose. The fire is just getting started…

Have you heard about the workers in forklifts apparently running into the pillars of the Kennedy Center on purpose? It’s all part of the Petulant Little Brat’s tantrum. People won’t let him put his vile and ugly name on the Kennedy Center so he thinks it should be torn down. (The building, that is. His name can’t be torn down any further.) He says the facilities are in a maintenance crisis. He lies about everything, of course, and he’s lying about that, too. Congress authorized $257 million dollars for maintenance. I, for one, would like to know where that money has gone.
If the building needs maintenance – and buildings do – and Team Evil has the money – and they do, Congress having authorized the funds – they can address the maintenance needs of the building. The rest is politics and narcissism. It’s the kind of petulant tantrum many babies throw when they don’t get their own way. He wants his disgusting, made-up name on the building or he’s going to tear the building down. A judge tells him he can’t do that and that he has to inform the court thirty days prior to any major construction.
The next thing people know, fences are going up around the facility and workers are “accidentally” crashing forklifts into pillars. He’s just a hate-filled piece of garbage, isn’t he? I’d like to see the court trying to protect America from 47 appoint an overseer of some kind. These criminals move fast and break things and it would help to have an on-site, every-day person keeping tabs…

Team Evil and the press are trumpeting a deal with Greenland. 47 – who lies about everything, most especially when he loses – is claiming the deal he has reached with Greenland lets him do pretty much whatever he wants. He said the deal, “gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns.” Of course, the boasting bloviator claimed no other president had been able to work out any deal.
You can expect him to HAMMER on this would-be wonderful deal like nothing else has ever happened in the US. He has absolutely nothing else he might point to as a success. AND, you will not be surprised to hear, he doesn’t have this, either. He’s just hoping no one realizes the whole thing is a lie of hyperbole before the mid-terms.
You’ll never believe this: he’s lying. It turns out, this magnificent agreement only he could make that allows the US to do anything it wants is really just an update to an agreement originally made in 1951. That agreement already allowed the U.S. to maintain a military presence and expand its activities in Greenland. Nobody else could have done it? I’m pretty sure that disgusting failure of a human being wasn’t President in 1951, so, apparently, someone else COULD do it and DID do it.
It’s important to note, there is no text of a final agreement available yet. That suggests there is not actual, final agreement. If Donny’s past is any indicator, he’s likely to toss in a last-second poison-pill demand that scuttles the whole thing anyway. We should have known he’s the worst negotiator in history when he started calling himself the greatest negotiator in history…
